Alright, its my first time selling on Ebay and someone bought my stuff...

I sold my Modstream PSU. THis guy used the Purchase Now option and he paid me in full and the money is in my paypal account. The total sale is USD$90

However, his address is unconfirmed.

I checked his member profile in ebay and he has been member since Dec 9th 1999, has a feedback score of 51, with 2 negatives and the total number of feedback is 96.4%...should i ship to this guy?

hell no. the whole problem with unconfirmed shipping addy is that you may not even be dealing with him. I mean someone could've hacked his account so looking at his feedbacks is useless.

Listen, I just lost $750 for shipping to an unconfirmed address.
Don't do it. Refund him the money, and ask him to pay with a money order instead!

I haven't sold anything on ebay before, so I don't know if there really are problems with shipping to people with unconfirmed addresses.

I know personally, I haven't gotten around to confirming my shipping address because I lived in the dorms for a few years and my credit card bills didn't come to the dorms. Personally, I'd say if they already paid, you should give them what they bought. If someone's hacking into their account and using their credit card, isn't that something for the credit card company and Paypal to take care of?

Edit: Wait, nevermind, I just read the orion23's thread about losing $750. Don't ship to them. Heh. And I'm going to go confirm my address.

Listen to someone with experience OP, don't do it, ask for a check or money order.

thanks guys...i am gonna paypal him back the $ and ask for a money order. If he refuses, i'll just redo the bid and state i require confirmed address..

make sure you refund the money, don't paypal it back.

Exactly. Go to the transaction detail screen and click on "refund" link at the bottom. Relist your item and file for PP fees to be refunded back to you. IIRC one of the valid resons for refund that Ebay allows is when a buyer has an unconfirmed shipping address. I may be wrong. You may be able to just cancel the bid and resume your auction.

To play it safe, make sure in your auction terms you specifically state that you will ONLY ship to confirmed addresses.

damnit! i just paypalled him back the $...but the money is directly from the Paypal account, not through my bank account. I'll be careful next time

I currently have an unconfirmed address because I'm away at college right now. My confirmed address, which my bank and credit cards are attached to is back at home. If someone refuses to sell me something because I have an unconfirmed address, they can expect to get negative feedback.

Which would make you a bonafide di1ckhead. If I'm selling an expensive item there is no way in hell I'll send it to an unconfirmed address. Remember, feedback works both ways.
