I rented an Xbox and a couple games from the local video store. My 20inch Phillips Magnavox has the yellow, white, and red jacks on the front of the unit, and those are the cables that the video store provided. How do I get the TV to switch over to those inputs? I tried everything on the remote but not luck.

my remote has a tv/vcr switch, that didnt work, a menu but it just has options for setting the time and the sleep timer and stuff like that, and a closed captioning option.

you need to change the video input source. same as if you were using a vcr, etc. should be a button called video on the tv or remote.

try switching channels....usually there is a channel (or 2) devoted to the input ports

if that dosent work, try using your VCR, and route the signal through there

PsychoAndy got it! I flipped channels and there was a mysterious channel that never appeared before called GAME, it was before Channel 1. Thanks Andy, I wonder if it autodected the game from the inputs?

I wonder if the quality will be any better than using the normal coaxial cable input that most game systems use?

On mine you can change the name of the inputs, since the front inputs are most commonly used for games that's probably the default name.

Composite is definitely a step up from coax, but the real quality jump comes from composite to s-video.
