Yep that's most people's reaction.

My Alaska Airlines/BOFA cc has been great my limit has been increased a few times up to $8k now, 1.9% fixed APR forever on balance transfers and I have earned about 1,000 miles per month.

That was the same one I was looking at.. how much is the annual fee?

Depends on which cc you get, I have the "Classic" $45/yr, my wife has the Plat which is $75/yr I think.

3 is not bad, Hell I'm addicted to credit cards. I have about 15 seriously all visa,MC,Discover None of those retail crap cards there interest rates SUCK. All my cards are either Platinum or Gold and one is a titanium (just a name MBNA made up) that card has a $35,000 limit. Most of my cards are $15,000 thru $25,000 limits.

And for those of you who say ohhh thats bad have that much cards and revolving credit it will lower you fico, Well I just bought a new car and my credit was run through all 3 agencys and the lowest score was 710 the highest was 740 and the other was like 720 or something like that.

I just like having the limits I do, I work hard to keep my credit clean, In fact I only use ONE card ever, none of my cards have annual fees, (Well one does) and they all have interest rates about 9.9% some have 6.9% one has 3.9%

I like being able to walk in a store knowing I could buy anything in it 🙂

I have at least $300,000 available credit, But I have alot of self-control, Yes once in awhile I'll make a big purchase but I pay it off before I go wild again.

FYI I'm 31 and my credit report goes back since I was 18, I also have 2 car loans paid off and a couple of other loans paid off. And I know my credit score would go up by like 30 points if I closed some of the accounts but like I said I like the feeling knowing I could buy anything (Well most anything). Also all that matters is that your credit report is over 700 that score is considered top notch credit.

hmmm...I have three credit cards

StarWars Vader MBNA Platinum Mastercard - 5k limit
Discover Platinum BlueBubble Seethrough - 5k limit
OSU Bankone Visa - 3k limit

22 yr old college student. I believe three is fine, just pay the mofo's off and dont skip a payment.

1 of each type 😀

That's what I've considered doing, actually, it would help at places like Costco that only accept Amex. I don't see a need to carry both a Visa and M/C (although I might get a M/C just to strengthen my ties with my main bank).

It's not a bad idea except for Discover but I won't get into that.

If you get an Amex, consider the CostCo Amex, $0 annual fee, up to 2% rebate and it doubles as your CostCo membership card as well.
