well there goes any chance of you getting that car from that dealership... 🙂

theres a bunch of Mazda6s on my way to school at the brand dealership... i dunno if they're selling like crazy though... they probably are. except for the yellow one... 🙂 there's an infiniti dealer a couple of blocks away... with a red G35 coupe right at the front. :Q

heh You could buy my buddies used Accord coupe and still have money to spare. 🙂

I dunno, it depends on how bad you want a new car vs. a used one.

I'm guessing that your parents are going to change their mind yet again, they loving doing this sh!t.

How can you get 0% APR on a used Accord?

you read it wrong.

advantage of a new car: 0 down 0% apr (@ 15K~ probably domestic cars or hyundai)
advantage of an old car: good used accords but higher apr.

new or used... depends on how risk averse you are... new you get a nice warranty and know how the car has been treated since its early miles... used you don't, but its a lot less expensive. any decent dealer will let you borrow the car for a bit to go have a mechanic put it up on a lift and check it out.

new cars ~17k
civic
se-r
focus (svt is nice)
protege
stripper camry or taurus or accord
corolla

oh, never do 0 down

yes, but its juicy and the drippings are good...
ppl should stop saying that when they don't know what they're talking about 😛 Ford engineering only applies to the automatic transmission, nothing else. And I'm getting the manual 😉

Not quite. The Mazda 6 is nothing more than a Contour SVT with different body panels. There are minor differences, but in the end, you're driving a Ford. And a damn good one at that.
I believe ElFenix already owned you earlier, but just in case you miss his post and continue to spread your ignorance:

The Mazda6 is an entirely new design and shares only the Duratec 3.0L engine block with other Ford models. The engine head/valvetrain, suspension, chassis, electrical system, interior, exterior, and probably a host of other accessory systems are all Mazda designed/sourced.

They're different cars.

Is this the general perception of Mazda in the car market? Are people really this ignorant when it comes to their models and designs. That explains why they're sales are crappy - the buying public is full of ignorance.

Hyundai Tiburon is looking mighty nice

Ah ok, well you could probably get a 2001 Accord LX for around $13,000 that's what they are going for locally.

Either get it checked out by a trusted mechanic or buy a Honda Certified used car.

I got in here a bit late? What was the dealership's response to your original offer? Judging by people's comments, he insulted or your something...
Right now 2003 Hyundai Tiburon is looking mighty good..@ 0% apr, 0 down I know it's not the greatest car, but options-wise, it's fully loaded for $19K MSRP! (rape me price)
What sized vehicle are you looking for? The 6 is a mid-sized sedan (barely), while the Tiburon is a compact coupe.

A used Accord coupe/sedan should be an excellent value.

PMed the previous content for your sheer enjoyment 😀!

I like late model corollas more than late model civics. The base motors on the corollas is significantly stronger than the base civic motors.

Edmunds says invoice for a manual '03 corolla S is about 13K and they come with A/C standard (unlike the civic DX).

You should try to con your parents into giving you another 3K tho, it gives a lot more room to work with. I think 18K before taxes will buy a 5 speed 2003 accord LX.

Who told you that?
I hate it when carbuying sites recommend that. Zero down is the absolute best way to insure that you're getting a good price on the car (because lenders have collateral ratio restrictions). And in these days of Zero interest, why turn down free money? Instead, put nothing down and put what you otherwise would have put down in a savings account and leave it there.

For 15K, you can definitely get a Civic LX coupe, and take advantage of special financing, which makes a huge difference. There's nothing wrong with a Civic, certainly nothing wrong with 35 MPG in car that roomy. I wish I could get a new Civic for myself. Personally, I'd take one over a used Accord.
