ALPHA's Back!

I never knew they left😕

Looks nice. Although, my next cooling purchase will be a water setup, I am sick of all these noisy arse fans

The Swiftech isn't all copper is it? I think aluminum is more than acceptable as the conduit to air (I believe aluminum radiates heat slightly better than copper, just doesn't conduct as well). Just need to have a big enough copper(pure as possible) heatspreader and have the aluminum making at least a pressure fit into the copper, if not a weld.

Right the swifty is an aluminum sucker, bu tthe base is copper. I never really cared much for the sk-6...just looks like it's not too good. But everyone and their mother tells me it gives them good temps...it must have something going for it then (I'm assuming the all copper, fin design)

I don't think it would be possible for an all copper alpha because copper, although very conductive, it is also good at retaining heat (or that's what i've read) so i don't htink it'll work with the whole alpha air sucking idea.

Right, but w/ the quality done by Alpha, and if they switched the fan to blow, I'm sure we could see a really big competitor. But the HSF area has aged. We are now using copper alot more than we used to, because it increases performance yields. If Alpha were to form an all copper hsf, I can't think of a design that would revolutionize cpu cooling. Maybe they could, but I'm not sure. Maybe an all copper design from them, w/ a reverse fan blowing down, would work even better.
