Alpha Sigma Phi

ugh, im quite glad that i did not pledge at any fraternaties here... they are completely about drinking... not even partying... i mean.. its ok to party a lot and go wild.. but... i dunno... they are very shallow people at the frats here... now if i had gone to a normal school.. yeah.. there would probably be a good chance that i woulda pledged 😀

A co-worker of mine here at school just walked in with a Alpha Sigma Phi shirt on.. does that count?

Wht does the mystic circle thing mean though.. he has not yet found out.

Phi Sigma Kappa here...
Hey danny, do you call your mother a mut? or your country a cvnt? if not then its fraternity and not frat.

Didn't you make a post a few weeks ago about wanting to drop out of college? Pledging can be a brutal destroyer of grades.

I'm a Sigma Nu myself, though I have mixed feelings about the fraternity experience.

<< Rent a Friend >>

Seeing that with just about any fraternity you join you make friends and CONNECTIONS for life, how exactly is that renting. The amount of help you can recieve from your brothers in the future greatly surpasses any dues you have to pay while in school. Think about that before you bash it next time maybe.

<< Join a Frat. >>

see previous post.

Phi Sigma Kappa... DAMN PROUD!!!

Wow, it shocks me how mis-informed people in here are about fraternities and/or friendship and brotherhood. Maybe you guys should go join a fraternity!

"as of now I am putting the Delta House on DOUBLE-SECRET-Probation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

As far as generalizing what FRATS are all about it is kind of like generalizing about the moron who get all in a tiff about something as trivial as their frat. I know people who said it was the greatest experence, other said it was a drunken stuper that almost (or in some cases did) destroyed any chance of graduation!

Get over it people have had different experence with Frats and for that reason saying all Frats are the greatest thing you can be in is JUST AS STUDIP is saying they all drink all day long

Fraternity does not always imply friendship and brotherhood--the generalizations work neither way. I've seen Greek orgs do so much crap, but I've also seen them do some great stuff.

Anti-greek as I am, however, this thread asked who was in ASP, not why you don't like fraternities...so leave it out.

Don't even think about listing your social fraternity/sorority on your resume.

Where I work, we instantly throw those resumes out.

Professional ones are another story though.

oh and by the way, no i do not work at Fry's hehehehe

That's so ridiculous, I don't even know where to start.

As for generalizations, I have to agree with other people in this thread. I can say with certainty that not all fraternities are a bunch of drunken idiots who "pay for their friends". Being in a fraternity was an incredibly positive experience for me. However, I know that there are some colleges where the stereotypes still persist. If that is all someone has experienced, then I can't fault them for thinking that is the norm but it does bother me when I try to explain a different perspective and get nowhere. 🙁
