Alpha PAL8045 + MSI K7N420 ?

Hello all!

I am looking at upgrading my computer with an MSI K7N420 mobo and an XP1800+. To cool it I would like to use the PAL8045.
Alpha's website lists it as "Do it on your own risk". I am wondering if anyone have successfully used this combination, does it
require a lot of work to get it to fit?

I believe the tech note on Alpha's website says "might cause problems"...

It also says "using nippers to trim the washer..."

I'll be finding out when I get my K7N415 next week...
 
I use PAL8045 on my Gigabyte GA-7VXRP. I have to cut one of the washer. I also took a risk by put 2 washers on the board embeded wires (on the back on the board). works fine but i didn't over tighted it.

Edit: I know it's not the same board. But you may have to take some risks.
