hey alls, im interested in getting an alpha 8045(sp?) heatsink with a quiet fan cuz my dr thermal 770 is driving me crazy with the noise!!

anyway, anyone know where i can buy a combo of quiet (panfolo?) fan and alpha heatsink?

SVC always has kick ass prices. they have the alpha with the ys tech 48 cfm fan (which i bought) and it's pretty quiet (36db). that's a lot of air though. you could get the 31.3 or 35 cfm fan which run under 30db.

they have the alpha for 30$, cheaper than anywhere else i know of, highly recommend these guys.

So that you don't have to come back later, the 8045 is designed for the fan to be sucking air off the HS, not blowing it onto (into?) the HS. YRMV, so if you like experimenting, try it both ways.

directron.com has them with the panaflo L1A, it's very quiet and if your case is well ventilated,

it will do OK (no record breaker)

note: Directron will be pretty good on $$, but not the best

edit: I put a Sunon 40cfm on mine, its moderately quiet (good compromise of noise vs. cooling)
