Almost missed a test

I still have that recurring nightmare that I missed a test or I was registered for a class that I hadn't been going to all semester. I graduated a quite a while ago. Seems to be a common nightmare...

I have the EXACT same nightmares quite frequently. I've been out of college for almost 9 years. It's a very uncomfortable feeling.

Dudes that's crazy about dreams of missing a test and whatnot because I've had some of the same in the past few months, and I've been graduated for 2.5 years. Like I'll dream that I forgot about a class so I hadn't been going to it or anything for months then realize "oh crap, I'm signed up for this! I thought I only had 3 classes!".

Not sure why. I never missed a test or anything like that. Maybe at times I put off work for some classes and had to cram, but nothing that bad especially compared to almost everyone else I hear.

Google comes back that this is a very common dream to have. It's really weird though. I don't wake up in a panic like many people do. I wake up, take a second to think, and realize that it was just a dream, and thank God that's the truth.

What it means isn't too heavily debated from what I found, but there are several ideas about why so many people have this dream...

The one about registering for a class and then missing it gets me very frequently. At least a couple of times a month. One variation of the dream I realize it in the middle of the semester, and then have no idea where the class meets. Then when I try to find the class and I can't find it. When I do, I find everyone in the class is doing really well, except for me. Sometimes it's a class I know I have but just figure I don't need to go, and then figure out later it was much harder than I thought, and then I'm screwed.

I've done some searching around online and it seems to be a very common dream, and it seems it's usually people who have already graduated college that have that dream.

I have a similar story. I walked into a class I had skipped for weeks (prof was super dry and the textbook was excellent) just after reading break to find out when the midterm was because the prof said in the first week that the midterm would be sometime after reading break. I showed up 10 minutes late. Guess when the midterm was? Yup.

Doing long division and square roots by hand sucks.

i don't think i've ever had this dream.

when i was younger my nightmares involved falling, family members dieing, ghosts/evil creatures, fires, etc.

now i can't remember any nightmares.

the scariest thing about my nightmares is in them, when my life is on the line, i can't move. i can't react, my agility drops to nothing, i can't even run down a hallway. it's wierd. and yet, those are the only dreams i can remember.

my nervousness regarding school happens exclusively in waking hours 😛

Graduated almost 6 years ago, and I still have the occasional missed/unprepared test dream. Mostly mine are unprepared dreams, where I don't even understand what is on the test in front of me. I think was due to E-Mag theory. That class kicked my ass(Computer Eng. Degree). I just had a difficult time with the electrical side, but put me in front of a micro to program/debug, and I was in heaven.

Yep, I've had it too.

Back during my freshman year while I was in USMC ROTC, I'd wake up thinking I was late for PT. I'd fly around the room getting dressed, run out the door, and as soon as I hit the cold air I'd finally look at my watch to see it was 1 in the morning. Did it a couple of times before I managed to decompress.

This past weekend I ended up getting up at 1:30am, taking a shower, and then getting back into bed, while thinking the whole thing was a dream. Only found out it was real because my towel was on the floor and I had ended up sending my sister an email. Don't know why that happened since I'm not really stressed at the moment.

I misread the final test schedule once. Showed up to take the final and thought it weird that no one else was there. Turned out I was a day late. Explained it to the prof. and she agreed to let me take the final the next day. So I'm on my way to school when some douchebag on a crotch rocket smashes into my car. After sitting at the accident scene for about an hour and a half I was finally allowed to leave. Showed up just as prof. was leaving. By some miracle she still let me take the exam.

Don't think I ever came close to missing an exam. I'm one of those pre-planning, on time is late, early is on time kind of people.

I've had this dream a couple times too. Usually I'll be taking 4 or 5 classes, and one will be really hard, and there will be one that I don't remember going to at all. Or that I went to a couple times and then stopped going to focus on the others. Then I'll realize I haven't done any of the homework for at least one of the classes and have probably missed all the tests.
