Almost hit a dumbass on a bicycle today...

Because he ran a stop sign. The trailer trash dipsh!t even flipped me off, which I did also. Why the hell to people on bikes think they don't have to follow the rules like everyone else? :|

youre that FVcking undercover cop that blew the stop sign and hit me on my bike today after I STOPPED FOR YOU! SHAME ON YOU!

seriosuly... I know its illegal to ride on the sidewalk... thats why I go no more than 1.2x the speed of the peds... for everyones saftey. I refuse to get creamed on the road. What happens? Some highschool snot zipping down the sidewalk the opposite way has to dodge an opening store door, swerves and slams into me!!!

Then across town a freaking undercover cop hits me after HE blows the stopsign! Then he does this rediculous burnout like his bacon a@@ has something to prove! OMG WTF! I HATE YOU PEOPLE!

This is bike to work week! I bike to work anyway most of the time because its only 5 miles and I'd never get the mustang warmed up in time for it to make any sense... I am a responsible biker, why dont the rest of you CLOWNS learn how to drive!??!?!? :| :| :|

god dont get me started... you have your freaking v4.... thats 100x the power of my inline 2. even if he's an a@@.... remember, you can kill him, he can chip your paint!

Why'd you flip yourself off? 😛

But seriously, I hate that too -- I hate it when bicyclists use pedestrian laws and vehicle laws interchangably.

Not all of them do that. It's just that we only remember the ones who do. Still, those cyclists make it a pain in the arse and they really need to get ticketd more often.

I don't think that applies when they run a stop sign (breaking a law), I could be wrong though.

if you're on the roadway, youre considered a vehicle and are supposed to follow the rules. Otherwise stay your ass on the sidewalk

Cyclists are NOT PEDESTRIANS. A person on a bicycle is legally a vehicle and as such is required to obey any and all traffic laws that are applicable to motor vehicles. In most cities if you are over 16 you can be ticketed for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk, this is often not enforced, but it is on the books.

Fixed. If they're on the sidewalk, they should be a *true* pedestrian and not be riding. It's an either/or thing and it sucks to be on foot and almost get hit by a bicyclist.

I hit a biker the other day at 2 mph. The dumbass was lucky I wasn't going any faster. There is a stop sign at the exit of my apartment but the blindspot is horrible and you can't see if any pedestrians are coming unless you inch out so much your car is on the sidewalk. Idiot comes zooming by at like 15 mph and crashes into me.

Who the hell pissed in your cereal this morning? Where did I blame the cyclists that follow the rules? Un-wedge those biker shorts from your ass-crack and realise that I'm only pointing these things out for the few morons who believe that bikes have the right of way and don't have to obey traffic signals.

That's why riding on the sidewalk is so dangerous. Riders are relatively invisible to cross traffic on the sidewalk compared to the street.

Other moves that dumb cyclists pull that can get them killed are running stop signs without being aware of traffic, of course, and riding against traffic, on the wrong side of the street. (A closing speed of 10 MPH riding with traffic is a lot safer than 50 MPH riding against.)

It's me blowing off an incredible amount of blood pressure... and no, I dont wear biker shorts... In fact, I'm only one step off of wearing a lab coat from work  There is no safe way to commute through an overpopulated bourough other than risking your precious car in one of the daily fender benders or blowing 14mpg!

Ill tell you what though, when the coast is 100% clear and there is no doubt... even though no driver should ever roll the stop... youre a sadist if you want a biker to make every stop.... a stop sign every block for 2 miles on steep hills??? I blow stop signs all the time on my bike, but only because I KNOW the coast is clear and I'll never get where Im going if I dont.

The law's the law. Follow it. I dont' give a sh!t if your legs hurt because of it.

Can you go 120mph in a car if you KNOW the coast is clear? Well you can, but you're an ass if you do.

Sh!t happens, it could have just as easily been a car that you almost hit.
I ride a bike to and from work everyday and I refuse to ride in the road. There are 10000000 more bad car drivers than there are bicycle riders. Last I checked, cars are alot more lethal too.
I smacked a truck a few months back and while it wasn't entirely my fault, I didn't start crying like a
b!tch. Despite what you may think, people on bikes are human too and can just as easily make (gasp) a mistake.

I dont think you guys know how it feels like to have to stop at everything on a bicycle. But I would never run stop signs when there are vehicles around. Funny enough... when i do stop at an intersection all traffic stops until I cross regardless of who arrived there first. 😕

I think it also depends where you ride your bike. If you live in a big populated city where bike riders are rare then bikers are the ones that need to be extra careful. If you live in a college town right next to the beach like I do where there are thousands of bike riders and cars are aware of the many bicyclists then they need to be more careful. Of course both people in cars and bicyclists need to follow the law and also have some common courtesy.

It feels a lot like obeying the law.

Seriously, I have no sympathy whatsoever for a person who injures himself because he is too stupid to follow the laws of the road. I do not want them to get hurt and in an ideal world they would never get injured no matter how much of a dumbass they were about flauting the law. However, if they do get hurt from doing things like running lights it's their own fault I have no sympathy for them. (I reserve the right to have sympathy for their loved ones because it's tough to have a friend or family member get injured, even if it is that person's own fault.)

Regarding the "it's a pain to stop all the time" argument, I would save a whole bunch of gasoline if I just blew through stop signs with my car. I should be allowed to do so because it's easier. Oh, wait that's stupid. Oh, and it's the exact same argument you're using to justify breaking the law on your bicycle.

Most cyclists are good and follow the rules. But you idiots who run stop signs, go straight from the right side of a right-turn-only lane or otherwise flaut the rules of the road are just begging to get hit.

I've never been hurt blowing a stop on my bike because I'm not stupid about it. I get hurt when you idiots make rights on reds or speed up to blow a yellow when im walking my bike across the intersection in the crosswalk or pedaling across, legally, in the operating lane. Read the posts. Thanks to bR for understanding.
