For $70 you can get Norton antivirus, Partition Magic 8.0 and Ghost 2003 and 10.0. The rebate is the same as the cost of the SW, so the final cost with rebates is the cost of sales tax and stamps.

Good deal for almost free software. Unfortunately, NAV sucks. PM8 is okay. Ghosh requires .NET. Can't win them all.

Thanks, I hadn't looked at their newspaper ad yet today.

Anyone know if all 3 prgms require the same convoluted registration process as used with NAV, where you have to be online and enter codes to Symantec site, which generates new codes to your SW to activate. And if you don't happen to be at a i-net connected computer, you have to call, and do a similar process by hand??

NAV...yes. Not sure about PM and Ghost.

RU sure as to the products?? My SoCal Fry's ad indicates the bundle is for their Internet Security 2006, Ghost, and PM.

that is called activation. it is what tracks if your subscription is valid etc. its a 1 year definitions sub.

Bundle here in TX is the same as yours. I've noticed that Fry's ads are not identical everywhere - this may be one of those instances.

Activation...another scam by SYMC to force the PC user to "PHONE HOME". Other highly respected AV vendors don't resort to this game...McAfee, NOD32, Kaspersky, etc.... Just look at SYMC's stock price, a 52 week low. Powerquest used to put out good products, until it was acquired by SYMC. Norton used to put out good product, until it was acquired by SYMC. Hmmm....

That said, PM is still an okay application. And it's free if you get your $ back. Removing NAV is a pain.
