Over a month ago my server's mobo died and it has been out of commission since, but that is about to change. 🙂

Just got the IDE controller I needed so now I am installing Windows. Going to serve as a file server, ftp server, backup server, and DC++ server.

The Specs:

Abit BP6
Dual Celeron 533
512mb Ram
1x10gb HD (OS drive)
3x160gb HD
1x200gb HD

Plan on adding more HD space by the end of next week.

:Q

BP6...now there's a blast from the past. First computer I ever built was around a BP6...although I never got around to purchasing a second CPU for it 😛

Really, really good board.

Oh, and I still have that BP6 lying in a box somewhere. It trucked on as my dad's desktop for over four years...

Nice 🙂
I have a much older rackmount server pulling similar duties (IBM PC Server 325).

Dual P2-266s
512MB (4x128MB EDO ECC DIMMs)
4x 9GB Ultrastar 9ES in RAID-5 (on IBM ServeRAID II)
1x 4.5GB Seagate Cheetah (OS)

Got it for free locally (owner thought the HDDs were FUBARed). Couldn't be happier 😀

Nice setup.

Dual 533s in a BP6, quite the classic 🙂

Here's my Windows file/WAP proxy/web/game/etc server...

- 4U rackmount chassis
- Supermicro P6DBU
- 2 x PIII 1GHz/100MHz Slot 1 CPU
- 1gb RAM (4 x 256Mb PC100 CL2.5 Reg'd ECC DIMMs)
- 1 x 40gb WD disk
- Some FC-AL RAID card I can't remember name/specs on right now 🙂
- 10 x 18gb Seagate Cheetah FC-AL disks in RAID5 (Dell PowerVault chassis)

Ah the old 533s I don't have the filesharing stuff on mine but it is doing some similar duties:

- Dell Precision 420MT
- 2 x PIII 667MHz Slot 1 CPUs
- 256MB RAM (4x64MB PC600)
- 1 9.1GB Fujitsu MAG U160 SCSI LVD SE 10K RPM disk (OS drive)
- 2 x 36GB Fujitsu MAP U320 SCSI LVD SE 10K RPM disks (striped)
- Adaptec ARO-1302 U160 SCSI RAID controller with 64MB onboard (need to upgrade it to U320)
