I was coming home from work today and nearly took out some genius. The expressway Y's off and traffic was backed up on the left hand side. No big deal since I was going to the right. There was traffic in the right land and I was in the next lane over. Well right before the Y, some idiot jumps over from the right lane, nails his brakes and is parked half way into my lane. I had about .2 seconds to find out there was no room on the right and too much traffic behind me to nail my brakes. Traffic was going ~75 and there is no way I would have stopped before I nailed Mr. MENSA. My only option was to thread the needle between his rear bumper and the side mirror of the SUV to my right. I was so close to the idiot's car that it actually whistled when I went by. No way I could have had more than an inch of clearance.

I still have no idea why he did that. Its not like its a surprise...there are signs for 3 miles telling you that the split is coming. There really should be an IQ test associated with a driver's license.
