Almost ashamed to ask...How do I create a "Link"?

I've been here for over 2 years and still don't know how to make a link for others. I checked FAQ maybe I missed it.

Ah, I just learned this yesterday after being here about a year. I learned it the hard way though, hitting the symbols link at the bottom of this page and inserting (pasting) the url, etc.

Glad to know both methods, thx.

BTW, when would someone use the "secure" link?

Well, as long as this is the place to admit one's ignorance...

Can someone explain or give an example of the following in the reply screen...the hr button, the LI button, and the 2 1,2,3 buttons to the left of the emotion selection?

And one more thing. Besides using the select emotion menu, how do you make the mad emoticon? I've tried the capital I and the lower case L no no avail. I usually just type them out...it's faster.

I'm not sure, but hit the SYMBOLS button at bottom of reply screen the same functions are available there listed in a dif format with more elaboration, maybe it will click with ya.

I think the 1,2,3 three stuff is to list your comments in numered lines, another choice is bullets.

I guess HR puts little cones on either end of your sentence, etc.

It's still Greek to me. I'd do a little experimenting but I don't think that'd go over too well.

The "|" thing is called "pipe".
