Hmmmm... that's pretty common. Basically you can find any kind of filled steamed bun. In Cantonese I think it's called Hong Dao Bao. Actually, now that I think about it, here I usually see red bean inside a baked bun, like a red bean pineapple bun. But I have seen it in steamed buns I'm sure.

I'll have to check out an Asian grocery. I hadn't thought about those things in decades. They'd get dried salted fruits too. They'd make your face pucker, but were strangely addictive.

I like soy myself. Can't drink regular milk; I'm not lactose intolerant but ever since I started drinking soy milk years ago, regular milk tastes gross to me. To me it smells and tastes like it's spoiled even when it's not.

Exact same story for me, wife made me start drinking soy milk, now I can't stand regular milk.

Well exactly the same except that I AM lactose intolerant. Regular milk makes me fart for hours, which I assume is some version of lactose intolerance, which is why my wife made me start drinking soy.

Just started drinking the silk brand. While it is a lot richer and seems to have the consistency of egg nog and though I can only drink a quarter glass of it at a time, I drink more of this per week than I do regular milk. I kind of like the flavor of it. It definitely does NOT taste like milk though.

anyone try this? saw a carton of Almond Breeze at the grocery and thought i'd give it a shot. pretty good, healthy too. no lactose. then again, its not really milk since almonds don't have tits.

guess i found my milk replacement finally.

Make sure you get the unsweetend almond milk. Dont buy the crap thats loaded with sugar.

PureAlmond is a lot thicker than Almond Breeze. I like Almond Breeze better. PureAlmond is like a shake almost, Almond Breeze is more similar to milk.

I will have to try that. I think the eggnog texture will get old after a while.

Shaws or Publix soymilk beats them all. Actually I prefer the taste of Shaws soymilk over regular milk and I used to go through like 2 gallons a week when I was a kid. Silk tastes horrible and asian soymilk tastes like shit.

I just drink lactose free milk. All milk substitutes suck. I've tried them all. Also drinking a lot of soy milk will give you tits.

just noticed that Silk has come out with a Coconut Milk!

Don't remember if it was Silk brand, but I tried the Coconut Milk once, and didn't care for it.

Loose stool too? ;)

asian soymilk tastes like shit.

I love the real Asian soy milk! :(

Yep, I switched to it about a year ago. This is all I use for my milk needs now:

Tastes great, no sugar, and it lasts much longer than regular milk which is nice.

I prefer the taste of cow milk, but almond milk isn't too bad. I can't stand soy milk though.

I bought a carton of the Silk almond milk stuff and it was decent to drink about 1 cup at a time. Any more was a bit too much to take, and I didn't like it at all on cereal.
