He needs to be taught to respect authority! I knew it was only a matter of time before somone suggested this lol. He is the akyshyt (the x1900 guy from video) of the OS forum.
 
I believed its spelled akshayt. I like akshayt though. He's hilarious. I mean, he provides entertainment for me because you guys love to bash him and I love that!

I would rate akshayt(pronouced Asshat) above Link19, at least Akshayt has something different to say in each post and "tries" to be useful, Link19 on the other hand is nothing but a troll, he never posts in any other threads other than those that have something to do with Win98..oh wait the one time he did post in another thread(a winxp one I think)he quickly turned in to a win98 crap thread.

Link19 is completely useless to AT and should be sent to firey depth's of Permaban Island...he should be in good company there with Rollo, and a few other trolls that I can't remember.
 
I read that thread (and replied to link by Brazen). Part of the problem is that he has been such a dweeb for awhile. BUT, Link19 did not really start that war (well, he did start the sentenance with "That's ridiculous you even mention..." which are fighting words) . His first post was on the money though and it was right to try to steer that user to XP or an alternative, if possible. Everyone piled on because it was Link19 saying it (I probably would have told any other user they were not very polite). And part of the big argument is centered around something that he was partially right about that most folks have forgetten (but he is also wrong - which he will never research and admit).


Personally, a 2 week vacation with a comment about learning manners would be my response. BUT as the mods have said before, this is not a democracy and we do not get to vote. PM next time.

I will admit that part of the problem is indeed that he has developed a rather loyal following of annoyed, angry geeks. But I remember a time when all his posts were literally copy-and-pastes of each other. Every remotely Win9x thread he would pop in and post the EXACT same anti-Win9x drivel, word-for-word (I believe it's what he has in his sig now). It was pointless, and for a time people just dismissed it as just some pointless post, then eventually people started noticing that all his posts were copy-and-pastes of each other, with no real substance, and it just sorta snowballed from there.

He doesn't copy-paste his posts anymore, but it's still the exact same Win 9x sucks, with no reasoning or constructive dialog, and most importantly NO RELEVANCE TO HELPING THE OP. Which is the main reason I think he needs to be banned. I have not seen one single post by Link19 that actually addressed the topic of discussion or was helpful in any way whatsoever. If he would stick to OT, he would just blend right in, but he hangs out in the OS forums, and he's making a huge dent in the quality of the OS forums.

Link19 and his thread crapping in win98 threads is a PITA. Believe it or not, some still have work PCs that use it. You can't even post a legitimate thread for help without with him crapping in your thread. I don't know about a ban. Maybe the mods could warn him to stay out of legitimate win98 help threads.

When Windows XP, Vista, 2003 is the original thread topic.. Link19 will fvcking somehow turn it into a bashing Windows 98 thread..

Anyways, all of his 900+ posts are undoubtably WIN 9X sucks blah blah blah. And he has been here since 03.

It leads me to believe that the other mods don't moderate the other forums. Someone will just say "mods cant watch everyone" but the fact that he has been here for 3 years and gets away with saying the same crap over and over and nothing is done is irritating.
 
If any banning is done I think perma-ban is a bit much. OTOH I don't have anything against 1-2 week vacations on the cuise ship.

hey last time I got banned it was for one little word(which I will not repeat) which some little cry baby found offensive(Mdchesne I'm looking at you).

FYI, mdchesne has been banned since last year. He is gonna have to have some very good hearing, as he's still on the AT Cruise ship. He's sailing the ship that goes to the flat world, and off the end. Oh, wait, I think it might have already made it's destination.

There was a legitimate query from someone, not in any manner a troll, that I responded to, and then this moron started his whining.

I am sure there are other places for such fools to vent on, but if any moderator is going to actually moderate, let's dump this particular alminary orifice. He is making no contribution in any form to the spread of useful information.

Yeah I don't think Link19 really adds anything useful to the topics. I'm not sure if he deserved to be banned though. It's hard to ignore him though. >.<

But there's a big difference between "useless" and "destructive". Useless comments can be tolerated, but destructive comments should be stopped - and that's exactly what Link19 does, he destroys nearly every thread he comments in.
 
wow can't link19 ever say "98" without putting POS with it? Seriously if he wants to complain about an OS he should complain about 95 - it was even more of a 32-bit patched on top of 16 bit and a lot more unstable. Win98 was actually very decent (ME not so much).

Anyways, I vote for a vacation for him with a message about manners. If after that 2 week vacation he goes back at it again give him a month, and if he STILL doesn't clean himself up give him a "3 strikes you're out" and permaban him. We don't need useless users who do nothing but flame.

I know this isn't a democracy here but I still cast my opinion just in case.
