Yeah I do. I have a ~1200 minute plan, with three additional lines. I haven't had to deal with customer service much so I can't comment on that. No problems here, I don't think they're too bad.

My parents did, but they had a reigonal plan (not national). They were alltel customers for probably 10 years (back when it was 360 wireless and a cell phone cost $10/mo), but they recently switched to Verizon. Alltel couldn't match Verizon's coverage. With their phones now, they're often on Alltel's network anyway, since it's part of VZW's "Extended Network" and they're not charged roaming for it.

Yeah, no problems really there. My phone is an Audiovox CDM-8910 flip-phone. The reception is good except for a few spots when you go out of the city. Then again, I live in Escanaba, MI and it's a pretty suburban/rural area.

I've been with Alltel for three years now, and they're the best one I've tried yet. The service is very reliable, and customer service has been very helpful. I highly recommend them.

Alltel phone reception is just fine. I've rarely had any problems with that. And for me, their plans were by far the best deal around.

Alltel customer service is as bad as any company can get.
[*]Expect multiple errors on multiple phone bills.
[*]Expect long lines in the customer service buildings or to be on hold for hours on the phone.
[*]Expect that most Alltel B&M stores in your city cannot help you - so it is a wild goose chase to find the correct one.
[*]Expect to overpay repeatedly and then have to beg for money back.
[*]Expect them to send you text-message ads about Alltel service AND then charge you for receiving those unwanted ads. I mean, come on, if you are going to stoop so low as to advertize yourself on your cell phones, at least don't charge us for those ads! I had to cancel text messaging service completely just to stop the charges.[*]I've had them change my billing address without my permission to someone else's home - so I didn't get my bills with their multiple errors on them for three straight months. That was a big mess to clean up, luckilly they'd let me pay the bill without me knowing why it was higher than normal to avoid late fines and then after lots of arguments let me get the incorrect charges removed.
[*]Alltel customer service was under several investigations not too long ago - I don't know what the outcome was.

Pretty much, it is the worst company I've ever dealt with.

dullard's post does remind of the wait at the customer service building. There's usually only a couple of people working there and it's pretty slow even if the line isn't long. I've only had to go in there a couple times though, once to get a new phone and the other to ask about text messaging.

I've never had a problem with the bills, they're laid out nicely so you can see where all the minutes go and if there's any extra charges. No text-message ads either, at least here.

I like my Audiovox 8910, though....the flash on the camera phone is prettymuch pointless sicne it doesn't really work well at all

Haha yeah that flash is terrible. The only time it would be useful if it was like complete dark and the thing you were taking a picture of was about an inch or two away. Other than that, I like the phone.
