Hello guys

I know this can be done but do not know how to do it myself and have done quite a bit of searching but could not still find a solution.

Basically what I want to do is lock all access to my vista pc except for ms word, excel and powerpoint. The user ofcourse must be able to save his files and view them at a later time. Another important aspect is all removable drives and cd/dvd writing must be disabled.

How can this be done? Is there any software I can purchase to do this? Or is this a complete group policy thing? If it is, can somebody recommend me a consultant or expert who can do this?

Thanks

Prevent children from using specific programs

Applies to: Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate.
Which edition of Windows Vista am I using?

If your computer is connected to a domain, Parental Controls are not available.

You can use Parental Controls to determine which specific programs your child can use. For example, if you use a program to keep track of your finances, you can prevent your child from opening it and viewing your financial information.

1. Open Parental Controls by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under User Accounts, clicking Set up Parental Controls.? Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2. Click the name of the person you want to prevent from using specific programs.

3. Under Parental Controls, click On.

4. Click Block specific programs.

5. Click Person's name? can only use the programs I allow in this list.

6. Select the programs that you want to allow. If the program you want doesn't appear in the list, click Browse to locate the program.
