allow extra spaces

i think that you should be able to create extra spaces if you want

for example: "i [6 spaces] go"
looks like "i go"

so i can make diagrams using punctuations when trying to describe something

also, how would it mess up thread alignment when there is a limit on how many characters can fit on one line?

There's a limit? really?

so many threads have been screwed up by people typing the same character, ad infinitum..

a perfect example was the "does 0.9999999999999999999999.... = 1 " thread someone put like 9,000 9's into it.
