It only took about 5 minutes before I was elevated to VIP status. I used my CC through paypal.

AFAIK you have to be a Premiere Business member and have either their CC or DC.

Back on the subject. allofmp3.com IS NOT a legit business. They have been around for few years now and used to be completely free. They got a wiff of things as soon as iTunes went into business and figured they can make some money off the latest craze. Think about it, Apple pays appx $.70 in royalties for every download, I doubt that allofmp3 could negotiate a super discount over Apple. The company is in Russia, I am talking about a country that is only behind China is software/music/movie piracy.

#1 you have to have funds in your paypal account.
#2 you click on the link to where paypal has a list of stores where you can shop supposedly but in actuality, paypal generates a 16 number randomly generated card with expiration date for you to use at that present time.
I forgot the actual link... but just search for the list of sites that you can use paypal with... merchants or something...
hope that helps.

I got that far. But the problem is is they ask you for a cvv2 verification number which is supposed to be on the back of your card. The window thatp popped up for me had no such cvv2 number. Has anyone here actually used a paypal 1 time cc pay for allofmp3? if so how did you get around the cvv2?

:( Man, I had $5 still on my account.

At least I was able to get all the Van Halen CDs. My poor old Van Halen cassettes sounded like a$$.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure it'll be back up (knock on wood). They seem to be running this thing of a PII 350 with 128 MB of ram or something considering this happens all the time.

It's gone down repeatedly? I hadn't hit up the site since about a month ago, and I didn't have any problems. I think it runs on considerably more powerful hardware considering the online encoding feature. ;)

Yeah, it's been having problems since a week or two after this deal came up. Call it international AT effect. They've about doubled their users from what I've seen.

As far as the online encoding; I'd imagine they store a few of the more popular bit rates and compression formats rather than compressing them every time ;) It looks fast now but go try to order something in 320 ogg and see how many days it takes :p
