claratin doesn't work anymore ,I'm on nasonex and Zyrtec and my eyes and face are so swollen that it hurts just to open my eyes, nothing is working this fall help! 🙁

Also take ventolin and asthmacort and I'm having asthma symptoms for the 1st time in several years.

That sucks. I've been taking Claritin-D all fall, and its helped a lot. When that isn't enough, I take 2-3 Advil Allergy Sinus to relieve the swelling / pain in the sinuses.

The ingredents in a lot of this stuff jacks my heartrate and makes me feel like total crap🙁

Have you tried immunotherapy?

Shots worked wonders for me when I was young, & I'm considering getting re-tested & doing it again.

I got desperate two days ago & picked up a box of claritin-D, so far it's been amazing - I didn't sneeze at all yesterday (first time in weeks), nose quit running, circles under my eyes were MUCH lighter after only 24 hours, etc.

If it continues to work like that I may not pursue shots, but they have worked very well for me in the past.

My normal drug of choice is Contac Severe Cold & Flu, you might give that a shot. Very short term solution though, you'll end up going through a box every 3 days.

I know how that feels. Zyrtek and Tylenol Allergy both do that to me.

I used to get shots and I guess I'll have to start doing so again, though it won't help me this season.

Well I get all warm and tingly around him but I don't think that counts as an allergic symptom 😉

Have you tried Allegra? They have a regualr version and a "D" version I think. Claritin never works for me because it has to build up in your system to really have a good effect. I also get shots because I'm allergic to all sorts of indoor stuff, but even before the shots I always liked Allegra best. For over the counter I use benedryl when I'm having a really bad allergey attack and Sudafed when it's just so so. At least winter will be here soon and the pollen count should go down 🙂.

get shots... or just go to sleep

allerigies are terrible and should never exist.

take a shower too helps for 5mins after 🙂

Please this is a family forum with youngins'! :music:

You should bet re tested, but I suggest you just avoid the stupid shots.

If you find out what you're allergic to, you can make some changes to give yourself a break from the reactions.

#1 thing is to make your bedroom allergen free so your immune system gets a break 1/3 of the day.

Try to keep from taking the Zyrtec unless it's necessary, but you can take it if you know you're going to be exposed to an allergan.

Sorry you feel bad Geekbabe🙁

I took my Zyrtec @ 5am today, sneezing & runny nose immediately upon waking up today...

I've used Claritin, Claritin-D, Allegra, Zyrtec, and Flonase. As of yet, nothing can even put a dent in my allergies. Usually, I get allergies bad for about 2 days and they develop into a sinus infection or bronchitis. It sucks but at least from then on I can get antibiotics to nuke them.

Or, I just ask the doc for a steroid shot to get my immune system pumping.

Anyone here get allergy shots? Do they work?

The shots work really well for me. I've been getting them for about 4 years now. They do take time to build up in your system because you have to start out taking really low dosages. I go every three weeks, so it can be a bit inconvenient if your doctor is not close to home or work. You can still take other allergy medicines along with the shots, so the combination works very well when the pollen counts are high.

Steroids actually knock out your immune system, & reduce the inflammatory response.

I've been through 3-4 courses of the allergy shots, they're actually controversial & I didn't get any relief
