Computer Engineering degree ... I work as an "Embedded Software Engineer", although my mom wants me to follow in my dad's footsteps and become a pastor.

how did you afford steaks in college?

It's called having a job and working.

I worked about 30 hours per week throughout my Jr and Sr years of high school as a pharmacy tech. (pay started off around $6 and change, it was $8+ by the time I started college)

In College During the school year, I averaged about 30 hours per week of work. so I was making about 250 per week pre takes. (freshman year I was making like $8, sophmore year about $9 ... never made it past that)

During the summer and winter breaks I averaged about 50 hours per week as a pharmacy tech (by the summer I was at about 9 bucks per hour ... about 500 per week pre takes)

Also, my apartment was only 600 a month (for a 3 bedroom) and my share was $200.

I went to NIU ... tuitition costed like $7000 per year ... I drove a beat up car, insurance was about $100 per month. I had enough money te eat steak two or three times per week, to drink Heineken and Captain Morgan all I wanted, and to upgrade my computer Annually.

On the weekends I drank beer and chased women, though my weekend started on thursday afternoon and ended on wednesday morning.

On my transcript it says "Computer Science" but I hated going to class because I was the only person who spoke english as a first language, including the proffessor. I learned more in my first 2 months of a programming internship than I did in over 2 years of expensive schooling.

Next time, go to school in the US. ;)

Chemistry, in college, but I've been messing around with computers for 25 years. When Chemistry didn't work out, I went with my fall-back: my hobby.

I studied what the hot women always had problems in and needed help on, and went that route.
