I don't agree with this philosophy as much anymore. If you're in a 12 team league, have the 12th pick, are you really going to take 2 subpar backs that are probably going to split time or are you going to get 2 stud WR?

10 team league where QB touchdowns count 2 points less than all others... 2nd pick of the draft.

QB: Derek Anderson
RB: Brian Westbrook
RB: Willis McGahee
WR: Braylan Edwards
WR: Marquis Colston
TE: Chris Cooley
K: Some kicker
DEF: Some defense (I think the Giants unfortunately)

Backups:
RB: Michael Turner
RB: Chester Taylor
WR: Santonio Holmes
WR: Roy Williams
TE: Donald Lee
QB: Aaron Rodgers

Westbrook over AP? You figure people will be gunning for AP this year so he won't be as effective?

Sorry for that mess everyone. I thought the move message kept original message date and would merge them in by date posted. Looks like the latest messages got added to the bottom.

Look between your OP and this one. I merged in a bunch of info from another thread that may be helpful in a generic sense. It's not particularly aimed that this years draft in specific though.

I personally grade AP at 4th because I prefer known commodities as long as age isn't an issue. I'll argue for Westbrook as #2 any day of the week and will point out AP's statistical trends to prove it. Plus there are the non-statistical factors. Yes, I think people will scheme for him specifically unless Jackson can actually force them to pay attention to the pass. Plus there is the upright running/injury risk.

*edit* woo a thread merge that just screwed up the first half of the conversation! 😛

your receivers suck

I figured receivers were my weakest area. Looking to maybe trade for somebody decent.

Try and trade Tom Brady for a #1 WR and a #1/2 RB, otherwise you're done unless you pull off some miracles on the waiver wire.

I've been the commish for a fantasy league for 6 years. One of the regulars hasn't responded (UNCjigga) and I need the spot filled for Sunday at noon EST. We are a fairly competitive group.

If you'd like to join, PM me and I'll add you to the roster.

I would, but I can't draft sober. and 9am is too early to start drinking 😛

Selected the auto draft, but ranked the selection category by RB, WR, then QB from reading the threads here. Aside from that, this is what I ended up.

Any players I should trade away to fill the weak areas?

Rivers, Philip QB
Delhomme, Jake QB
Jones-Drew, Maurice RB
Westbrook, Brian RB
Norwood, Jerious RB
Johnson, Calvin WR
Moss, Randy WR
White, Roddy WR
Gonzalez, Anthony WR
Witten, Jason TE
Olsen, Greg TE
Crosby, Mason K
Chargers DST CAR
Panthers DST @SD

1. rules and starting lineup requirements are always helpful
2. is this an 8 team league or a joke? no way you ended up with that good of a team
3. QBs are only weakness, who is available?
