All things Equal, would an O/C'ed GF3 run the same temp as a GF3 Ti 500 if it was clocked to the same core/mem spec?

If so, it seems like the Ti 500 is a waste... Or would the OC potential be higher because the chipset just runs cooler for one reason or another? I assume a Ti500 would naturally run faster than a garden variety GF3 just because of it's faster speed. Would it take an O/C easier than a garden variety GF3?

That depends if the Ti uses a voltage increase to get to 240MHz. Nobody has yet answered that for me. I did the voltage mod to my GeForce 3 about 4 months ago and it's currently running at 240MHz. This is from 1.45V to 1.65V. No extra cooling either.

I thought that the core had been tweeked slightly on the TI geforce3's to allow them to hit higher cores and to run slightly cooler ala. athlon xp

From what I remember, the new titanium line takes advantage of a new die shrink which means it requres less voltage then the orginal Geforce3 which also means the Titanium produceses less heat then the originaly Geforce3 if they are clocked at the same settings.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong as this is all from memory

All things being equal... I'm sure it runs the same...

But keep in mind my GF3 Ti500 overclocks very well... I get it upto 366/550 easy... without even changing the HS...

366 core clock!?!? Wow

The Ti's aren't on a smaller die, but the fab process was an evolution of the original GF3 one. I assume that means better yields at a given quality.

I think you mean 266/550. I'm currently running my GF3 Ti500 at 260/585.
