I don't know....
Seems to me that Democrats are putting all their eggs into one basket, so to speak.
Currently, democrats "hope" to derail Trump's US Supreme Court pick from getting thru using delay.
Then, they assume they can win back the house and the senate in the November midterms.
Then, when back in control, they can block and cease any hopes of any Trump US Supreme Court justice getting thru. Present and future.
That is one egg....

Next, democrats hope to stop Donald Trump from further advancing his agenda.
Assuming that democrats win back two of the three branches of government.
That is egg number two....

And then, THE IMPEACHMENT.
The Donald Trump accountability.
Russia, North Korea, tariffs, walls, immigration, and so much more that democrats "hope" to investigate.
Assuming democrats win in November.
Egg number three....

Democrats sure have a lot of eggs in that shaky basket.
And it all assumes that they win come November.
But what if that doesn't happen?
What if?
After all, democrats record of predicting political future is for the most part spotty at best.
Hillary was to have easily won. That never happen.
Democrats assumed Mueller would take down Donald. That hasn't happened.
And last but not least, democrats assumed THE PEOPLE would rise up and insist Donald Trump be held accountable.
And as far as I can tell, I see no one protesting in the streets.
So.....

If democrats are wrong, as they usually are, and they fail in November.... then what?
If this anti Donald Trump outrage spreading across America, assuming there actually is one, and they fail to show up at the polls in November, then what?
If all the polls showing a huge advantage for democratic candidates in November fails to play out, then what?

The "then what" will be full steam ahead for the Donald Trump agenda.
With a congress still fully owned by the republicans.
And the democrats, helpless and hopeless.
Even if democrats succeed in derailing this current US Supreme Court justice from getting thru using delay tactics, who will Donald pick next?
Especially with his renewed republican house and senate?
And remember, Trump's next pick will come from an extremely very much pissed-off Donald Trump.
Trump's next nominee will undoubtedly be much worse than this current nominee.
We can only imagine the deep dark swamp Trump's next nominee will come out from.

So in the end.... we end up with one really pissed off Donald Trump.
Having no obstacles remaining to block his agenda.
And democrats having been reduced to a sweet memory.
Donald will find it quite easy to fire Mueller. Then to fire Rosenstein. Then to get his wall. Then go after anyone and everyone they ever looked sideways at Donald Trump.
And finally, fulfilling his wet dream of dictatorship.

Don't drop them eggs.

Dems could collude with a foreign power to flip the elections?

I looked it up. The Republicans might lose in november, but even if they do... they still keep the Senate until January. They can still stuff through their nominee before the end of the year and there is nothing the democrats can do about it.

I think the reason they are rushing right now is they see this as their final chance to get Roe vs. Wade overturned and they are so close they can taste it. They also know there are bunch of cases coming up next month that they need their man to break any ties. They will be able to get any insane decision once they have 5 reliable GOP plants on the court. Right now they are stuck with winning only 70-80% of their cases, which is just not good enough.

I mostly agree with this. I saw a poll two days ago, there is a blue wave when everyone is polled but when likely voters are polled it’s a trickle. Even more disturbing when people are asked whom should lead Mueller investigation or whom do you trust with healthcare a surprising amount choose their Republican representative.

This whining and pining for an effective third party-well you might as well vote GOP/Trump. The citizens of this country have one chance to effect the course of their government and that is by voting in elections. Grousing, bitching and wishing does absolutely nothing. If you don't like the Dem candidates then get off your duff and run for office yourself.

The United States is in real danger of effectively collapsing as a democracy or even a republic and 99.9% of the reason is because of lazy and self righteous citizens who don't bother to vote because "they are all the same." If the fallacy of that reasoning isn't already apparent then one is as delusional as the most ardent Trumpite.

And it's foolish to say the Dems have put all their eggs in one basket. As a practical matter the Dems acting on their own, have absolutely no power to control or even effect the Supreme Court selection process-that is totally controlled by the GOP. The best the Dems came hope for is to get evidence to the public and fellow Senators of the deep flaws with both this bogus background vetting that was done and the atrocious beliefs this nominee will bring to the bench-for the next several decades and hope that at one of more GOP Senators will find a moral backbone and stand up for their principles.

Nearly every Dem candidate is pushing their own agenda, usually based on the damage the GOP has done to healthcare generally and the ACA in particular, and how badly the GOP has wrecked the federal budget to gift their richest donors.

To the OP, what specifically would you have the Dems do differently?

IAll their eggs in one basket - the midterms

It's called a Democracy. This "one basket" you besmirch is simply the next election. That's where differences are made, outside violent revolutions. Now if one, say a Russian, were attempting to sow discord and stir up civil unrest, they might play up the alternatives to voting. How this "basket" of ours is a problem.

Why do you type the way you do? It’s such an odd style and cadence and looks like I’m reading lyrics.

The Dems need to win state houses. The state houses are the source of Republican power.

Yep, Dems won't really start winning elections down ballot until they get back the power to redraw districts. Not sure why Dems weren't paying attention in 2001-2009, but now with PACs like Forward Majority they are looking to take back control of half the states before the 2020 census.

Also, you'd be amazed at how many educated Dems I know in NC and VA who still haven't "gotten around to" registering to vote, or even checked that their registration is still valid. That has me worried.
