All oversees ballots are counted: final unconfirmed numbers

I have a question and this thread is as good as any to ask it.

In the counties that are doing the manual re count, are they counting the 19,000 votes that where set aside because of undercount or over count or hanging chad?

If so, would it be correct to assume they where not counted in the original machine recount, and then are likely to be counted in the manual re count?

Are we suffeciently confused now?😕

Tripleshot - they're examining every ballot, including those that were not counted in the machine count becuase of over and undervoting. I think that PB and Broward Counties are going precinct by precinct where Miami-Dade wants to presort the ballots.

I sounds like PBC is still way behind in making their judgement calls on contested ballots, so they're not really at the 1/3 mark. It also sounds like Broward County now will start to count "dimpled" ballots as well as partially punched one. Hmmm, recounts using somewhat clear definitions of voter intent are not getting enough votes so now they're re-recounting?

And to be more correct, the undervote and overvotes were "counted". They just did not add to a candidate's total.

I thought the undercount/overcount ballots where removed from the precincts prior to the machine count. If they are in a seperate box sitting somewhere,I would think the prudent thing to do would be for that box to be re opened and ballots checked,IF and AS SOON AS the Florida Supreme court authorizes the hand count to be included in the total count.

It would then be presumed that Gore would amass the requesite amount of votes to claim victory based on what we have learned so far from media sources.

That would explain the ratcheted up retohric of the Bushites desperation to squash the will of the people to be known.

I also find it a bit curious the number of absentee ballots thrown out of southern counties(Dems) and yet the majority where thrown out in northern or central counties(rep). If it is Republican canvassing members deciding the fate of these ballots,Bushites don't say a thing, but if its in the southern counties, the Bushites are raising holy hell.

Amazing!:Q

Tripleshot - think for a moment. The County Canvassing Boards are counting ballots with only one corner broken. These would not have been counted by the machines. They are being included now. How could there be "boxes" of votes that are not being considered now, especially if they're arguing over "dimpled" ballots?

Miami-Dade is machine sorting ballots to isolate the undervotes. Sounds like they're including the undervotes as well. Also funny that they refused to allow the floor to be photographed so that their would be evidence that tons more chad is falling out with every handling of the ballots.

Your reply is an assumption. I am looking for a more definitive answer. It is just as reasonable to assume the dimpled ballots they are arguing about are a new revelation. Since ballots are by precincts, are you saying the 19,000 ballots have been put back into the precincts they originated from?

I don't know. Thats why I'm asking. The correct answer will skew the results we have seen so far from Broward and PB. By that,if they are going precinct by precinct, these numbers will probably girate wildly when they get to these ballots.

Tripleshot - The Democrats circulated a letter describing how to attack and throw out the absentee ballots. In all the Counties, the Democrat who was watching over the count could object to any ballot and insist that the strict letter of the law be adhered to. That's why so many were tossed out in the more Republican Counties.

As for your point about the count potentially being skewed far more than what the unofficial results say so far, I agree.

Interesting how everyone but Russ seems to want to answer my question to him about his opinion of Bush and his qualifications. If this is none of my business, fine, but I find it interesting that he seems totally unable or unwilling to give a clear answer. I honestly would not pick on him because of it; I am just interested.

For my part, I am a registered Democrat but fundamentally independent, and really did not like any of the candidates this year, to include the small-party ones. I thought in advance of the election that Bush would soundly beat Gore, and so I am just enjoying watching Republicans posture and puff their chests out with righteous indignation while this process plays out. I imagine when the dust settles, GW "Little Quayle" Bush will win, serve one undistinguished term, and be soundly thrashed in 2004, assuming the Dems can field a candidate more likeable than, say, Al Gore or Hilary Clinton. If Gore does eke out a victory, he will be vilified by most Americans, and the Republicans in Congress will spend at least 40% of their time tying him up with a Starr-style investigation during his entire term, at the conclusion of which he will be soundly spanked, assuming the Republicans can field a candidate more credible than the bumbling Bush.

Chad on the floor. What a smokescreen. Loose chad falls out of these type of ballosts every time they are handled because some of the punched votes cling. These chad don't know if they are for dog catcher or pres. and have no pllitical affiliation except for that of the voter who freed them sufficiently that they will finally foll loose. Vote fraud under the dual watch in Florida occurs only in the imagination of partisans that can't accept the reality that their candidate will loose if a lawful final decission is arrived at.

I truely hope Bush does get this tainted election for precisely the reasons you state. Don't worry,Al Gore would not run in 2004,nor will Hilary. Mario will( I hope) or someone else from the senate or house, of which many are emminatly more acceptable than Gore.
IMHO 😉

Red - Every post from you is whining.. you can't accept that the majority of American's don't agree with your flawed views. You are the biggest crybaby on this board, and one who can't make an intelligent point if your life depended on it.. Not only does GWB look like a Rocket Scientist compared to you, but both the democrats and the republicans look 100 times more mature than you do with your whining in every political thread. Red, GET OVER IT.. nobody agrees with you..

I love this line from the CNN link a while back

<<"We have elderly counters overworked and burned out," he said. "Counters are working from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day, sometimes even later. Counters, many of whom are elderly, are exhausted. Some of them are angry, and clearly they are fatigued. The room is poorly lit.">>

LOL, now lets break it down. At any ONE time there is at least one counter working between those hours. I am sure there are laws saying a person cannot count votes for 15 hours in a row. He then says, <sometimes even later>, maybe the mechanical seniors working have a 72 hour battery life, then they are pluged into a wall for 3 hours.

Also, if I was angry in there, frauding the American people out of their true president would not be on my list of things to do. Maybe they yawned while in the room, i've yawned in the morning before, just as i got up!!! <The room is poorly lit.>, what the?!? Are they going to refuse to go to Wal-mart and pick up some $9 hologen style lights?

<< Vote fraud under the dual watch in Florida occurs only in the imagination of partisans >>

Moonbeam,

Including those republican ballots that wound up in the democrat pile, as reported by a D handler. "They weren't like that last night"....?

Crimson

Whats your problem?

Red - Every post from you is whining

Oh yea? I haven't seen any whining from him, just you pissin and moanin at everthing he does. Sounds personal.:disgust:

you can't accept that the majority of American's don't agree with your flawed views.

Who's majority? The republican or the Dems? or better yet,the 51% who diddn't vote because of the choices we had.In case you haven't seen the news lately, this is a 50/50 tie for the whitehouse.

You are the biggest crybaby on this board, and one who can't make an intelligent point if your life depended on it.

This sounds like you Crimson, certainly not Red.

Red, GET OVER IT.. nobody agrees with you.

Crimson, at least the 25% of the voters who voted Gore and the 51% who didn't vote at all(Hmmm, 76% of the population😉) probably support Red before you and your minions. Get a clue.

Michael

I've been reading them too.I can see the Supremes will have a field day with this. Now I'm burned out on legaleze. I will now persue football and Drakan, order of the flame.

<< Your sig sure puts perspective on this. LOL >>

Triple,

Makes you feel rather insignificant, doesn't it? 🙂 Bush and Gore bashing in my sig became tiresome and I decided to take the High Moral Ground and get rid of that. Gonna go with astronomicable sigs for a while, heh.

Gore's legal posistion is frightening.
>>
...the Gore team asked the court to set a generous standard for officials to ``ascertain the electorate's will'' when they punched ballots in the disputed presidential election. They said local election officials in close cases can ``determine the voter's intent.''
<<

Why have elections in the future?, the Gore team can ascertain the electorate's will and intent.

come on Red... you know I can do better than That mildly irritating patter... Wait until I actually write something.

Ya know, I never found KY that satisfying. Can you recommend another lubricant ? & it irritates my pee hole something fierce

Or to put it in terms a registered republican can understand. It was not me that you quoted.

The good dems of Broward county decided after 40% of the ballots were hand conted to now count dimpled or preggers marks as a vote. I think they should save a lot of time & effort & have Johnny Carson just hold the uncounted ballots to his head & tell em a number.

What's the poop on the 7500 illegal ballots for Bush. I heard something on the news in passing and haven't had a chance to keep up.

<< People who quote Joseph stalin to make a point are really grasping for straws >>

Maybe there is a different message....Perhaps Compucheap is opening up a new branch office....just a few thousand miles away....
