All of my sound has a slight echo effect

Wondering if there is some option I have turned on somewhere by accident. I'm running Windows 2000 and I have a SoundBlaster Live! Card. Both my speakers and headphones have the echo, so I'm assuming this is a software issue. I also run Ventrilo, which I know can change some sound settings, but I haven't found anything to stop this echo.

Thanks in advance.

I'd check out the EAX control panel...should be one of the sub-listings in your programs menu under Soundblaster.

Do you have any other hardware audio devices? Having a single signal going by both analog and digital usually causes this.

Thanks for the replies. I fixed it by uninstalling one of the SB Live patches I had downloaded a little while ago. But I also found the audio headquarters program and the launcher things to be kinda buggy, so I ended up removing everything in safemode except for the "Windows Drivers." Everything has been fine since :)
