All of a sudden, Sygate Personal Firewall won't turn on.

The topic pretty much says it all.

One morning I just started up my computer and got the Windows Security Alert that my firewall is reportedly off (Sygate Personal Firewall). I tried reinstalling it but that hasn't worked. I have done nothing different. I've now got a red security alert icon in my system tray.

Any help would be great.

You might try a System Restore back to when it was working, and/or a virus scan.

Ok tried a virus scan and nothing was been found. I don't have a clue why its happened.

no idea - i've used it for years without problems, and no problems on winxp pro sp2

however, i have windows security center service turned to manual which basically means (in my experience) its off most or all of the time.

I had same problem and i could not find any other way to fix it so I am forced to clean install Windows XP then install Sygate Personal Firewall and the problem is gone.
