I've never had any problems before. I'm using an SMC router and I have three PC's on the network. Machines A and B can see/connect to C but not each other. A and B cannot ping each other but both can ping machine C.

All machines are running Windows 2000 SP4. All are using DHCP through the router. All can connect to the internet through the router.

How do I go about diagnosing this.

Welcome to the wacky world of Microsoft network browsing. Make sure that NETBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all machines. If that doesn't do it, just install the NETBEUI protocol on all machines. Problem solved. :)
