I dont game at all

I watch movies on my machine and do some video editing (transferring old home movies to dvd)

my question is that is I get one of these do I get more perfomance out of the higher cards for multimedia projects, and wathching movies

or do you only see the advantages in memory and clock speed in gaming performance

thx

and since I dont game whats the best mutlimedia working video car purpose card out there today nvidia or ati

I have the following:

ATI 8500DV AIW
ATI 9700 Pro AIW
BFG 6800GT OC
ATI TV Wonder
Happauge WinTV Radio

I can honestly say that if you are strictly going to be using it for a HTPC type of environment and now gaming, go with the 8500 AIW. You can pick them up on ebay for like $35-$50 now.

The 9700 AIW gives a little better picture but not the $100 premium that it is currently demanding.

Both work with the Remote Wonder, which is an excellent remote control. RF not IR, so you don't have to have line of sight.

I can even play WoW on my 8500 in pinches and it gets perfectly acceptable FPS when I don't need all the eye candy and just need to get a quick fix. ;)

Seriously, the 8500AIW is a nice card and has really nice Svideo output too.

is there a hdtv tuner for the 8500??

does the 9700 offer any other performance (multimedia) other than gaming performance??

which works best with lcd monitors??
