Question All in one closed loop WC maintenance

Have a Swiftech H240X closed loop CPU cooler. First installed about a year and a half ago. Am noticing a couple tiny algae growths in reservoir. I only use my system on weekends. When should I do a complete coolant replace?
Is it simply at regular time intervals or does it have anything to do with usage?
Is any special 3rd party cleaning kit recommended?
What happens if I don't replace the coolant?
Thanks!

can you post a picture of your algae growth so i can confirm its algae, or are you 100% sure its algae?

You should typically flush coolant approx every 6 months to 1yr depending on what additives you are using.
If your using a premix, you may not need to flush for 1yr+ as it contains bionuke.
If you are running silver + distilled, you will not need to flush unless you see discolouration in water.

It really depends on what coolant your running.

And what happens if you dont flush.
You could experience what your experiencing now, which is algae.
You could also build excessive gunk depending on coolant.

It is all depending on what coolant you are running.
