aight!!! i have a new build here are specs:
abit kt7a
duron 700
128 mb mushkin pc150
visiontek geforce2 gts 32 mb
-------end if what im tryin to boot with----------
ibm deskstar 40 g 7200 rpm
turtle beach montego quadzilla
52x cd rom

heres the prob... i turn it on and get a long series of continuous beeps(never ending it just beeps and beeps and beeps) per awards bios beep codes, this tells me its a mem prob. the memory works fine in another pc, and ive tried using other sticks of ram-same result. is there ANYTHING else i can do to get this darn thing to boot? ive stripped it down to the basics as you can see and still cant get anything, no video just a blank screen and alot of beeps. does anyone have any fresh ideas on what i can do here? or what the problem might really be? the memory is compatible with that mobo, i checked b4 buying.....

If this memory works in another machine, and other memory that works in other machines does not work in this one and you are sure that it is a memory error then it is likely that the motherboard is toast, if you can get a replacement do it, if not check the rest of the components in other systems and make sure that the beep code is really a memory error and not something else, however most likely it is the motherboard.

well, if you have tried every DIMM socket on your motherboard, return the motherboard.

reset the BIOS and try again.
