Connecticut is supposed to be a Kerry state. But I never see any Kerry bumper stickers, etc. All I see are Bush bumper stickers and signs. I'm a bit worried.

But maybe it's just that Kerry people have a brain and Bush people are panicking, granted I don't know what hte panic would be if Bush got kicked out of office

I live in New Haven, CT. I have seen a 30 to 1 ratio of Kerry to Bush, bumper stickers. I have seen two Bush stickers so far and one was on a car with a Maine or Vermont license plate.

I've seen a spate of Bush and W window stickers lately. But, then again, KY went for Bush by about 15% in 2000. And these stickers are pretty recent. I've seen Kerry/Edwards stickers for months. The Bush supporters are Johnny-come-latelies around here.

Well it's been nothing but a sea of Bush stickers in Louisiana the last 2 months until this week, now I am starting to see quite a few Kerry Stickers.

However the folks with the Kerry stickers are not putting them on the car or bumper themselves, mostly on the rear deck of the car inside. I suspect this is so they can put away or hide the sticker when they pull into their driveways at home because homes are nothing but a sea of Bush Yard signs.

I have yet to see one Kerry Yard sign here.

Here in the suburbs of Detroit, MI, I'm seeing ~3 Kerrys for each Bush bumper sticker. To tell you the truth, I was a little worried putting a Kerry sticker on my new Avalanche. I didn't want some "gun slinging, NRA card carrying, red-neck repub" giving my sweet ride a key job:)

Since it seems each repub usually votes based on 1 issue (i.e., taxes, gun rights, or abortion), with little thought or knowledge on any of the other critical issues affecting our time in history, and I don't want to suggest in any way that all repubs fit into 1 category as described above, I suppose I should also add that I didn't want some CEO of a Fortune 500 Company or a religious zealot to give my sweet ride a key job:).

But, since this election is so very important, I put a Kerry sticker on my truck and decided to take a risk. I soon put another Kerry sticker on my truck because the 1st sticker looked so "small" on a large truck and I didn't want the sticker to be absent from view:)

I think Kerry people are being reserved and not turning their vehicles onto roving flag stands. For instance, I don't have a Kerry sticker on any of my vehicles.

The Bush stickers are just more visible because they are on bigger cars driven slowly by old farts.

A majority of people on welfare and government assistance are white trash in the south. This is Bush's base.

Some 61 percent of welfare recipients are White, while 33 percent are Black, according to 1990 Census Bureau statistics, the latest figures available.

Are they?

I took these 1994 AFDC (Aid to Families w/Dependent) stats: Link
and these 2000 election stats: Link
and put them into this chart: Link

3.6 million of 5.9 million AFDC adults were in blue states....

Come now...it wouldn't be fair to expect Blacks to pay 33 percent of social security taxes they make up only about 12% of the population

We have determined long ago that the term "white trash " is a racial slur. Are those allowed in p&n now?

I live in central CT and there are Kerry stickers on three out of the four cars at my house (my mother-in-law never puts any stickers on her car, even for the Red Sox).

Frankly, you don't see too many stickers (or lawn signs) this election in CT at all. My belief is that because we are NOT a "battleground" state both parties have been pretty inactive here, sending their money and volunteers to the critical states. I've been doing volunteer work on the weekends for Kerry in New Hampshire and run across all kinds of people who have driven from CT or New York (on their own dime) to likewise volunteer. I've also been seeing a heck of a lot of Kerry signs up there.

You can obtain a sticker or sign very easily-call your local Dem headquarters.

The upside of being in a non-battleground state is we have very few political commercials on TV (excepting Bush on Fox News).

I saw a few more after visiting Austin...no real pattern to the cars as far as national origin but I will say that I have yet to see a pickup with one
