ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH!

honestly...is there a better anime series than code geass?

every single male character that isnt a butt monkey is a magnificent bastard. every other episode packs in a MAJOR plot twist.

for someone like me, who loves the scheming manipulative bastards, this is like the epitome of the genre.

Too many plot twist in the 2nd season. I was getting pissed from the last 7 or so episodes as either people died, or they switched sides.

Pissed me off too much.

Looking at the overall series, I would rate it somewhat high, but there are many better shows.

I do have to give it credit though for killing off several of the main characters without affecting the overall story though.

please, i'm all ears. what series has more magnificient bastards than code geass? (that's partly why i love the series so much. that char type = awesome...on a boat, motherfucker)

maybe because i see the character archtypes and such as being very similar to Dune that i like it so much. muad'dib = pure xanatos.

Yeah, when it comes to the main char being a badass mastermind, its up there with Death Note... Gotta love series in which the main isnt some 14 year old whiner (which unfortunately is the norm in anime)

That said I have yet to find another anime with psychological games such as those 2

Well I guess you could say Darker than Black also has an awesome main char, seeing as how he doesnt hesitate on lying and killing people due to his nature

Monster is as big a mind **** as any other anime out there (the fingernail scene will make you squirm). Very good anime, but overall I think Code Geass is the best mainly as it also has tons of action.

You must really hate Evangelion then.

😛

Evangelion was confusing but somewhat enjoyable as long as you didnt mix up the series and the OVAs.

Lelouch does take the cake though for all the bastards. It went were many dont dare go. I am glad I watched it though as it was an enjoyable series throughout most of it.

Yeah. NGE actually has a lot behind it in terms of psychology/philosophy, and will beat you over the head with it if you aren't expecting it. Despite being a mathematician, I did have a lot of exposure with the philosophy crowd at my alma mater, so I was able to 'get' it. I only mentioned it here because the '14 yr old whiner' thing is often brought up by its detractors.

i dont know about him, but i certainly did.

as though suddenly i'd develop an interest in foreign films?

i was thinking about downloading and watching the "Gargoyles" cartoon series. i keep seeing the main villian, Xanatos, represented as a truly awesome bastard, full of evil and awesome plots. but i've never seen the series. must watch to understand...

First season was great, second season was a gigantic piece of crap.

dont care, dont care. both seasons were truly and incredibly awesome. (except for almost all the people at the table in 19 still living at the end.)
