The band's members are all Orthodox Jewish women, and guided by a rabbinical injunction that says it is immodest for a man to listen to a woman's voice in song, they perform only before other women.

I'm dead serious about not being surprised that this happens in India. By the responses, I don't think anyone else is either. It's not "derailing" to state my opinion, and if you're here to just have people agree with you, you're in the wrong place.
