Hello forumers..

The Story

I've been having this problem since last month, the first time it happens is when I was watching a movie, the media classic player just stuck (I can't do anything on my pc whilst it stuck) but with enough effort of alt-f4 it closes. If I do nothing, the BSOD come out.

I'm a casual gamers and when I try to run COD4 it just stuck at the first intro... I tried other games and the same thing happen.

I read a few tips&trick, update my driver, use old driver, and finally, I've underclock my factory's overclock GC to its recommended speed (600,1500,900). Now the video ran smoothly.

But as for the games, it makes it to menu and to in game, but after a while(~1 minute) (playing it or just leaving it) it stuck at the last frame like forever...I tried leaving the stucked PC for a while (20minutes) and it stays like that, no bsod..

-I've already checked both rams and it runs great (borrowed my friends rams but the games still stuck).

-I think the temp is ok but I can't confirm it as I donno how to save it when the pc stuck.

-I will check the GC on another system but for now I can't.

Now, I ran out of idea...I hope its not PSU or power shortage problem..

anyways, this is my hardware

-Gigabyte P35-DS3
-Dual Core E2180
-a pair of XMS2 Corsair RAMs
-MSI 8800GT
-seagate 250GB
-Gigabyte Superb 720W
-Creative x-fi gamer
-a piece of firewire card

Do you typically have something running in the background when you game? Do you have more than one anti-virus running? Let us know when you check the GPU in another machine. Welcome to the yellow brick road.

Thanks Magnus!

Um, well I do run some program while in the game..But just the typical download manager, AVG antivirus (its the only Anti-virus I use)..oyeah, and fraps..

I've already formatted my hd twice.. I will update when I'm done testing it in another machine..

Now I'm troubleshooting the software..

Try a diffrent set of dirvers for the vidoe card. If that doesn't help then your video card may be going bad.
