the first apples from tibet thousands of years ago look nothing like the modern crop.

cows just a few centuries ago did not have distended udders

all the food you eat has been genetically modified.

well, it's more like mix and match cross-breeding... i think genetic modified term used today is more... er microscopic.

and organic sometimes really isn't organic.

You are right.

That being said, stop being a troll and recognize the difference between selective breeding and physically changing/splicing genes.

AFAIK, he seems to be trolling the trolls who say that GM foods are TEH EVILS and will contribute to the downfall of society / give you cancer / kill children / eat puppies

Which is all fine & dandy for me, since I got

While I've never seen a GM corn stalk kill a child/eat a puppy, certainly you will admit that plants that can't propagate combined with trends moving towards all plants being that way does not bode well.

cross-breeding is mixing the genetic material of two species to try and produce offspring with the desireable geno and pheno types. can't get any more microscopic than that my friend

Some foods did not naturally exist, such as corn.

Im pretty sure corn always existed, it was just different in the past and a lot tougher to eat..

I get this info from Gun, Germs, and Steel 😛 No idea how accurate the book it, but it won an award or something so I would think it is.

You know damn well what organic means.

it contains carbon.

Organic food is, in general, food that is produced without the use of artificial pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In common usage, the word organic is a broad reference that can apply equally to store-bought food products, food originating in a home garden where no synthetic inputs are used, and even food gathered or hunted in the wild. However, the term organic is increasingly associated with certified organic foods, which are produced and labeled according to strictly regulated standards. In many countries, including the United States, Japan and in the European Union, certification is a matter of legislation, and commercial use of the word organic, outside of the certification framework, is illegal.

Go ahead and try to sell regular food as organic.
