All Case Fans Stopped Working

I've bought a new PC about a month ago, assembled for me in advance. Initially, everything worked fine. Yesterday, I noticed that the case fans had shut down, all four of them. The CPU, GPU & PSU fans work accordingly. The specifications are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4460
GPU: Asus Radeon R9 280X
RAM: HyperX 8GB 1866MHz
MB: Asus B85M-G
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB
PSU: Cooler Master 600W
CASE: Raidmax Seiran II (4 Fans in total)

As said, everything worked fine for a few weeks. Something to note is that this case has two speed controllers for the fans on the front. I've checked the wiring; the fans are all connected to a single motherboard slot (uncertain what to call it), but the wiring also winds up to the fan controllers. I checked the wires as thoroughly as possible, but I fear I might have missed something, because I see no other explanation. Any help is welcome.

Often outlet stores provide a 30 day or even a 90 day warranty on their builds.

The most probable cause of your issue is a defective fan controller. Four fans off one MB circuit is lots. I recently bought a new PSU & connected four 80mm fans off one PSU line then added a 5 watt 10K ohm resistor to slow the fans. I had to heat sink the resistor using a large binder clip also sink-ed to the inside bottom of the computer case (ie, there's some heat there and a simple 5watt is on the hairy edge).

If the vendor wont look at it, then If I would verify that the MB supply is okay, replace the controller with one that supports the necessary amperage capacity & run the controller instead off one of the PSU rails.

If the store wont help, then a possibility is to ditch the controller then wire the fans off one of the PSU rails using the +5 to +12V wires (for 7 volts) to provide a reasonable trade off between cooling (ie, fan speed) & noise .

Thank you for replying, C1. I went ahead and took a few photographs. Hopefully it can help. I'm not willing to try and do anything until I get in touch with the store I bought it from, but if you guys see anything unusual, I'd like to know.

At first make sure the fan controller is not defective as C1 asked. I believe the store will help you to find it even if the warranty is over. If it is OK, I suggest you to go ahead and install a fan control application your computer and check whether everything shows perfect in it. Another option is to go in to BIOS and check whether the BIOS settings are correct on Fan controls.

Thank you for the reply. It appears the fan controller is indeed broken. A bummer, really. How could have it broke within a month of use? Anyhow, all the fans work after being connected in a different way. Not sure how to explain it. What could cause the controller to go off so early? I didn't even use it much.

C1 gave you the correct answer. The place that did the install most likely fried the controller when they put on the fans on one connection. They should be on the hook for the replacement.
