<< Only problem is calling in is like talking to a wall. Their CSR's are very slow and unknowing about anyhting. Takes about 3 times explain and re-explaining to them for them to get it right. >>

I've had great CSRs.....

>>>You mean there are Americans that don't get multiple credit-card applications in the mail EVERY day?<<<

Not sure why you say that...I have plenty of existing cards, and AAA+ credit, but I never get offers for new credit cards, with the very ]rare exception of an application from one of my existing card issuers...the rest of them never send me anything.

<< Wow, what a HOT FREAKIN' DEAL - NOT! Where's the lock on this? The BVG should not be used to make a hot deal, should be used to protect your purchases against future price drops (and maybe current deals that would entail shady vendors). >>

I find it funny that you're complaining this isn't a hot deal, yet you're telling people not to use this card to create hot deals? Sure buddy sure, let's all listen to you.
>>

I find it funny that you consider the posting that email address for submitting a claim is a HOT DEAL! Let's get real there buddy.... it's not a hot deal. The email address isn't a big deal -- you still can fax or mail your claim, so what's the big deal? (we know it's not a hot deal)....

<< >>>Looks like my method is still the fastest.
1) Call in first to file a claim and get a claim number.
2) Fax in all the paper works with claim number on every pieces.<<<

That used to work almost perfectly, but since Christmas, about half my claims have had to be re-faxed, and a couple still required snail-mail after they were re-faxed and 'lost' a second time. Because of this, I expect some claims will take 6 weeks from start to finish. Amex is receiving lots of faxes, and that has become an unreliable method of sending in claims for now, in my opinion. I decided to fax AND mail my last new claim in upon discovering that yet another older faxed claim hadn't been received.
>>

I have a couple of claims pending and thought I'd call AMEX. I mentioned that I had heard there was some problems with faxes being lost and the CSR told me that she hadn't heard of anything like this. She did mention that they were taking a bit longer than usual due to the holidays, but they were getting caught up as quickly as possible and would try to get back to 2 week turn around.

My three claims were all received - 2 already have checks in the mail and 1 is still "in review" and should be finalized this week.... YMMV...

It probably will get shut down. This thing is being milked like a pyramid scheme.
The more you guys abuse it the faster it will end.
If not they might limit its use for the electronics/computer market.

I wonder if it could be considered insurance fraud if you plan ahead of time to do this type of deal.
(You guys brag about your dealings online which leaves a paper trail)

Alot of the things we do are in the shady area.
Whats next, sharing what stores have poor security and are easy to pocket things
from? Its not that far off from some of the s**t we pull.

Nuff preaching. Trash me if you need to.

They just mailed me a $80 check yesterday. I haven't had any problems with them and its a great service. I just call and get a claim number. Then I write it on all my papers and fax it in.

I don't have an Amex Blue, but it sounds like maybe I should get one. Could somone please explain what this pricematching feature of Amex Blue is/does? Or at least point me in the direction of something that will explain it? Thanks.

<< Is it hard to get one of these cards? My wife and I have never had any credit problems at all but then again we havent bought a lot of stuff. We paid for a new car in total and never been late on our credit cards. Should I even try to get one? >>

I know this is a late reply to your post, but if you or anyone else does get this card, be sure to go through ebates.com and get $15 free for signing up. The $15 is paid to you through ebates during their normal pay periods.

Thanks for the address DrivinWhileBlind, I've been trying to fax a claim for over a week now and always get a busy signal. CSR's have been good for me.

to all the amex pm experts...can u tell me if the price match is just for the original sale price or does it include shipping in computing the final price.
also...does AMEX Blue for Small Business have the Best Value Guarantee?

thank you in advance for any input

The only time I did a pricematch (which was unintentionally on the 60th day after purchase), AMEX only looked at the original sale price without shipping.

I actually asked this question to one of the CSRs today....she said they don't figure in shipping and handling... However, it may be good to note that if you buy something with a coupon and it shows on the receipt, they WILL figure that into the price that you purchased the original item for....

Does anyone of you Blue experts know how AmEx handles the pricematches (i.e. Where does the refund money come from)? If AmEx itself is covering the difference instead of the original merchant, for example, then I'd better make sure I don't own any shares of AmEx!!

There's no way the merchant is paying the difference; retailers would be dropping amex like a brick if they were.
