I got this case last time it was on sale, its great for the price, but dont expect too much. Bought this for my sister, threw my old system in ther and gave it to her as "new", he he.
Lack of a floppy drive cover is a pain, wound up getting an internal card reader just to cover up the hole.

Is fairly loud, and i didnt even mount the front fan, can hear the chip set fan pretty clearly, was especially bad when the floppy cover was open.

USB front ports work fine.

Mobo tray was handy on installation, but allotta sharp edges inside.

Overall a great price on a decent case.

I also purchased this case a while back, and my one complaint was that the leads for the Power Switch, light and such from the front of the case were not that long. I needed to switch motherboards to one which had the connectors on the very corner of the board. Just a heads up for those who are interested.

Other than that, it's not such a bad little case (even though I am getting rid of mine because I have to much crap as it is!)

I have a very similar case since Nforce3 boards were out. It is a nice case, mine had covers for all the holes though. Mine doesn't have firewire, I have 80mm fans bought in bulk at the Egg like these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835150007.

The older version have a couple of gripes.

1) the front 5.25" drive bay covers popped out of place easier than I'd like

2) It had individual wires for each front port instead of a standard consolidated plug, a pain in the butt.

3) some of the thumb screws turned hard enough that I still needed a screwdriver

It is an ok case, but in a tower case I still prefer Antec Lanboys. They are on sale fairly often for about $40 AR at CompUSA. They are set up soooo nice its hard to use anything else. Everything is rubber mounted too, plus quiet 120mm fans. I've bought 3 Lanboys in the last year when they were on sale.

now they are screwed in.

still true. But not for firewire. And not a big pain if you know how to use a piece of tape.

3) some of the thumb screws turned hard enough that I still needed a screwdriver
not true

A lanboy might be better, but this is still a great case.

The price is good. The tray is good. The small air intake is bad.
It would be great if it allowed 120mm intake and specially exhaust fans.

Well, I just got mine a few minutes ago and it looks pretty good. The case was double boxed which was impressive but it came with two bay covers missing. That's okey, I guess since I knew about that before I ordered, thanks to posters above. I dont' know about the cooling, and I won't know till I take it for a spin.
Thanks, OP.

It's perty good, but not entirely aluminum. The top of the bezel is plastic and painted silver. Other than that the case seems solid.

I am wondering if the free shipping deal is gone. The Price comes to $49.82 after shipping "ground" is applied ( no fan applied). Was this case labeled free shipping on the ad previously? thanks!

xPCgears free shipping info recites that shipping will be
removed when order placed, but I'd like to know if that
is indeed true. Can anyone who has ordered this case tell
me? I've sent an email to the vendor, but no reply as yet.

Thanks, Dabney

isn't cheap alumnium case will cause hd failure or shorten HD life?
because of magnetic resonance...

Highly unlikely unless you are around some expensive hospital equipment. Aluminum cools faster than steel. It's a more expensive case material.

....are you talking about MRI?...lol...

i am just saying when hd vibrate it might cause resonance between alum and HD...
doesn't matter if aluminum is more expensive ....it's a softer metal also...
