Hmm, so you can move ANY existing system folder to the external SD card, and it'll stay there permanently? So, if you took a picture or a new video, you could have those new files get stored directly to your external SD card provided you have moved that folder over with FolderMount?

I'm not sure of "any" but the google music caching yes

I'd wait to see how good this fix is before celebrating, knowing Samsung. Also, I view this as merely a stop gap, not a replacement for a true 32gb version of the phone.

I just thought of something... would a custom ROM like Cyanogenmod or Omega take up much less space than the stock ROM? Would that free up some gb of storage capacity?

I don't see how you would ever run out of storage considering there's a new update allowing apps to be installed on the microSD card.

Apps to SD has to be supported by the individual apps though doesn't it?

But as Dlerium said above there's plenty of room for apps anyway.

I agree this is for the few. This is a good opportunity for fx. those who needs the new huge games, or fx. apps with trafic maps; I dont know how to move the maps to the sd card. Perhaps its just me, but with this solution it will be easy for everyone to get enough space.

This update is practically a 80Gb phone for a penny. We just got it for free when we have the sd card already, whats not to like?

Got my replacement s4 yesterday evening, which was a 2 day turn around.
I was scared for a second because
  • For the lady on the phone said there will be a 1 day turn around
  • An hour later I got an email saying that my phone was backordered and the delivery date was indeterminate. I was afraid of not having my phone for weeks
  • My phone though was delivered two days later.
  • It appeared to be a new item in the box

    My new problem
  • I couldn't do a self service activation for some reason. I got it resolved by tech support via Sprint Chat.
  • Now my phone will work for an hour or so, but after a while the phone will not recongize the sim card and lock down.
  • A restart fixes the problem temporarly, but then it loses the sim card an hour or two later. Data works fine on wifi.

New sim or old one?

I had a problem with an old 3g sim when I got my s2 a couple of years ago. I had to get a new sim even tho the old one worked fine in my old phone.

All my problems are completely fixed now (cross fingers)

The wierd part, the sim card worked fine with the same model of phone. But whatever bad sim card which worked fine for multiple phones.

Yay I got my external battery charger finally. They only sold it in white so it matches.

Now my phone can finally be my primary gaming console.

Wife and I upgraded from EVOs.
I noticed that with her Note II, when I put her sd card in, all the apps on it worked with her phone.
On mine, everything was on the card and the phone recognized the apps but none of them worked.
I just ended up formatting the card and starting over.
