I may send my S4 back. Its way too buggy for me. My fault for being an early adopter. Email app constantly locks, calling is painfully slow. Camera is awesome though.

Free SIM unlock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285431

I had to use the following steps instead of *#27663368378# to bring up ServiceMode:

Step 1: Launch the Phone app on your Galaxy S4, and dial in: *#0011#
Step 2: Press the Menu button followed by the Back key. Then, hit the Menu button again and select KEY INPUT. Enter 1 and press the OK button to enter ServiceMode.
Step 3: Press Menu one more time and tap back again. This will pull up the Main Menu for ServiceMode.

The steps work on my Canadian GS4 (SGH-i337m) but I don't have a SIM from another carrier at the moment to try if the unlock worked. At least nothing seems to have broken.
Does this work on the i337m as well?

Someone recommend a case? I'm taking my mom to a store later this week and want to have a case ready for her. Something not too hard, not too soft, not slippery, and as little bulk. She keeps her phone in her pocket books so drop protection isn't necessary.

Preferably from Amazon.

I have an Otterbox Commuter right now and it's pretty nice. Makes the phone feel solid and indestructible without being _too_ bulky.

It's actually not mine though and I'm replacing it with a slimmer Spigen Neo Hybrid whenever that arrives (I'm going more form over function for my case this time around lol).

I don't have my phone yet, but I really like the look and feel of my Neo Hybrid (lol). Pretty good build -- veeeery subtle lines on each of the four corners of the hard piece where they were combined was my only complaint. Very small profile all around, but seems significant enough to keep the phone safe. Looks great.

In other news -- ahhhhhhhhhh it's still in Memphis...now I'm getting worried...

is "fast dormancy" supported by AT&T in NYC? It seems to be killing my S4. I've barely used it today and it's been draining 6.7% battery life per hour.

The Neo Hybrid case is nice, but the headphone cutout is too small for me. None of my headphones and IEM plugs fit. I'm using the Rearth Ringke Slim case instead. Very, very nice case for its price.

Looks nice, reminds me of the Incipio Feather cases.

I decided to go for something with a TPU rim for my GS4 though since I wanted more protection.

Why does the stock Samsung keyboard lack auto-correct? It will predict the word, but you have to touch it in the bar to insert it. I looked everywhere and couldn't find an option to enable it. Sucks because I really like that keyboard with the dedicated number row. Not a fan of Swiftkey or Swype.

That sucks. I like the stock keyboard

Anyone having wifi issues? If I'm upstairs I can't even connect to my router. If I'm downstairs I connect but get horribly slow speeds. My other devices see like 15 wifi networks in my area, but I see only mine with the s4.

Works fine for me. You're on stock? Did you install the OTA yet?

Also, you could try Kii keyboard if you like the numbers row of the stock TW keyboard.

Anyone have a Verizon S4 yet that can comment on reception? My S3 has been AWFUL with reception, I drop calls ALL the time EVERYWHERE. It's awful, and I'm soon going to go buy an iPhone 5...but I'm hoping that the S4 can fix my problems. Not too keen on going back to iOS right now.

Thank you s44 and GTRagnarok. I ordered both your recommendations(one each). They look good and attractively priced.

Is there any info whether the S4 "Active" will have a removable battery? Not as easily accessible as the original S4 perhaps, but nonetheless removable/exchangeable after pulling screws off.

i used to buy otter box defender but i think now i prefer the gel cases that verizon sellers, they are just more snug and better looking and protect almost as well because the material it better than soft silicon

thats why i prefer motorola even though they dont have the best specs, works>features

There's something defective with your S3 then. Its radios are supposed to be pretty solid.

Go look on XDA for people complaining...to be fair, the area around my workplace isn't the BEST coverage, but I drop 4G regularly, when moto phones pull off good signal.

Also, 3 separate S3s have had the same signal strengths through the area. The S3 needs SERIOUS help on Verizon. Heck, I think there's thread on the Verizon forums titled something like "everyone suffering from an S3 should be given an S4 for their troubles."

I concur.
