Cool! Hows the quality?

128Kb/s IIRC, could be better I guess, but FREE is good. :)

You should see the HD thread, half the posts were flames about the poor bitrate.

I don't see what the big deal was. You could encode it to whatever you want.

j/k :D

Muhahaha.

These were originally available for a short time. The music was put out by the BBC and are completely legal, but were pulled quickly due to bandwidth issues.

Here is a new link to the symphonies, for those of you who missed out. Get them while you can.

Thanks again.

What I don't understand, is from your link above, it explicitly says:

Download disclaimer:
The BBC granted you a 7-day, non-exclusive licence to download this Beethoven Experience audio.
You may not copy, reproduce, edit, adapt, alter, republish, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use this audio in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not use this file for the purpose of promoting, advertising, endorsing or implying a connection with you (or any third party) and the BBC, its agents or employees.
The BBC will not be liable for any loss or damage which you may suffer as a result of or connected with the download or use of this file.

How is 'make available to the public' not in violation of your said 'legal' use?

I just would like to understand, before Anandtech gets hit with possible violation actions?

Cool - I have a CD collection (that I've ripped), but it's not the best performance or recording. Some eastern european symphony. Anyway - cliche I guess, but I love the 9th

Cliche though it may be, it is still an awesome piece. I figure at least a few of my neighbors know whenever I'm listening to it, because I've got to turn it up.

I'm listening to the 9th now, great stuff for sure. :)
