I have 3 WD 3.5 drives and one Seagate that have all failed within 2 days of each other. They do not power up, they are dead in the water. My 1000 watt power supply is 12 years old. I am thinking that might be the culprit. Although I tested the sata cables and power cables on a new blu ray burner just fine. All drives are under warranty, but WD says electrical overcharge is not covered. Does this sound like an electrical overcharge to y'all? Thanks for any opinions.

Other than a software/os/virus thing I’d imagine bad power like a power spike from the grid or bad power supply.
Were these running in a raid setup?

Can you try the drives in a different pc? Try the drives one at a time.
Yea, I did that already with the same result. One thing I failed to mention is my surge suppresser with a battery died several months ago, but I haven't replaced it yet. Thank for responding.

N/m
EDIT: It sounds like your power supply fried the drives then.
