All 3 of my optical drives do not show up anymore? What happened!!!

Just tried to run a DVD movie when I noticed it wouldn't run. Then I looked under My Computer and it doesn't show anything except both my hard drives and floppy. I have 1 DVD-ROm1CDRW (IDE) and 1 USB DVDRW drive which all don't show up anymore. I haven't installed any software recently or changed any settings. I didn't change any BIOS settings, and windows detects it in device manager but states this under "Device Status"

Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware evice. (Code 41)


Ideas?????

Are they showing up in BIOS?

System restore (I dunno, just a guess I don't use XP)

Have you tried unplugging them and reinstalling?

i started getting this problem with my second hd. my raptor(sata) is my boot drive and is fine but the seagate barracuda sometimes won't show up. even the optical does the same. i have no idea why it does this though.

I had this happen with 2 DVD drives, took them to the computer store, and they were both burnt up.
