$119 now. The 2TB is $99 (probably because it's from 17th st photo and not amazon direct now)

Gonna stop by and pick one up, still using just a 500gb that is now well over half full.

FUCK! DAMNIT! I was waiting until it arrived on newegg at this price because it's actually $100 on newegg. No shipping, no tax. And I have a giftcard for exactly $100. And it's already sold out. Bastards...

Now it shows OOS. As already mentioned, if you have a local Costco you can still get in on the deal (with tax of course).

Anyone know what hdd is actually in this? Been looking but can't find the answer. Been looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148844 and if I can save $50 that would be nice

judging from reviews it's 5900 RPM which is actually a 7200 RPM which was re-flashed to 5900 RPM to reduce heat and chances of breaking.. It's an ok drive, but nothing to write home about. Either way, who cares... you got 2 years warranty. It will most likely die on you during this time. You'll pay around $10-16 to ship it back, and you'll get a refurb which will hopefully work fine.

My experience with Seagate products was always mostly positive. I only ever had 1 drive out of 4 die on me, and the refurb I got back has been working like a champ. Screw them for giving me a refurb, when I originally paid for a new one, but hey... Should accept that fact when buying from this company.

I'm starting to realize that I will never delete anything in my life. I just keep getting larger drives.

I really should start cleaning house, I have tons of files dating back to 2000, I'm even doing weekly backups of them. I don't even know why I have them, but I've never had a reason to delete them so I just keep hoarding lol.

I haven't had time to research these. I have an old 250MB WD backup from years and years ago. Looking for something that is plugin then drag and drop for my wife to store pictures & video. She doesn't like the current setup. Is this one like that?

Im buyng 3 more on Payday. Can't wait to get my NAS going. Going to have tons of drives now! They are easy to free from the enclosure and seem to last a lot longer than they would if you left them in there.

All depends on whether or not they are going to be in stock then. Can't imagine NE having a deal that ends in a week and not having it in stock. That would be pretty lame.

I bought one of these several months ago and switched the 3TB drive w/ a 1TB Samsung. --- using the 3TB as an internal data drive and the external as a backup. :)
