Wow! Didnt even know AOC was still around! My mom still has a 13" AOC tv I bought her from 1988! Still works in her kitchen! Even fell off and onto the floor once and still worked. Has a removable glass cover for cleaning too!

I have a 27" AOC 720P TV and so far so good Though one thing that pisses me off, is that on my old 27 inch Sony tritron TV (tube) all the channels looked good, on this new TV all the channels still look good except Sci-Fi. Sci-Fi looks like it is 320x240, but I don't think it is the TV's fault, other people complain about Sci-fi as well.
Back o ntopic, I've had my TV for 3 months, and I used it as a computer monitor for awhile and it did pretty good there too.

Newbie question: Inputs listed on Costco's website are HDMI, component, and S-Video. Their 32" model, which I was about to buy, also had a VGA connector for use as a computer monitor, but this one doesn't. Will I be able to use this as a monitor? What kind of cable will I need to connect an Nvidia 7800GS to this? Thanks.

HDMI and DVI are almost the same thing. There are DVI-HDMI converters. You can get a converter & cable or HDMI-DVI cable for under $10 at monoprice.

My friend, there's no monitor or TV that does better than 8ms in reality... there are lies, and then more lies..

lol... 8ms for a TV is not a limiting factor. Even if you intended on using this as strictly a gaming monitor (for which you would need an HDMI capable card or DVI to HDMI converter)

This TV is very decent and incredibly cheap. That is it's main selling point. 1080p, decent screen, 3 HDMI, 42", 2 year warranty, for $800. Can't beat that.

Yeah when did 8ms becaome bad. I rememer 2 years ages people were ok with 24ms and was all the rave about 16. Did our eyes get better? Or did people just get more full of themselves. And by the way the systems that list 2ms are lieing. They are recorded grey to grey and you dont even know what level of grey to grey. Basicly all systems coming out now are fine for viewing and ghosting is not going to be the issue. PQ might suck but that Ghost is no longer an issue.

does this TV support QAM? they took it off their site....

I know the sceptre and vizio 42" 1080P ones do, but they are $200 more than this TV.

If it supports it, then I think it may be time to get it...

Heck, I play online FPShooters on my Dell 2001FP LCD (16ms response time) with no problems.

heh, I remember when I got mine and 16ms was the new "zero ghosting" standard. I remember tomshardware doing all these LCD shootouts testing for ghosting and basically, under 24ms* they really couldn't see any real ghosting. Never had any ghosting issues then, don't have any now.

*not sure if that is an accurate recollection.

I don't have an account, but it shows up on the site for me and still is priced 799 so maybe the deal is back.
