Came with remote, 4 batteries (even tho remote takes 2), instructions and RCA cable. I wouldn't want this as my primary DVD player, but for a gift or a secondary DVD player.. for $17 (after shipping) you can't beat it.

Have you tried any "backup" DVD's? Did they play good?
 
I just recieved mine.
I watched a movie that I backed up on a cheap DVD-R disk and it worked just fine, I also watched one on a good Ritek DVD+R disk and it was fine as well.
I don't know what the problems were with the units in that review because this one checks out OK.
It's one heck of a deal for <$18 shipped.

^^ the comments I read on Videohelp.com nobody mentioned if i played SVCDs, I know my $17 DVD player I picked up from Bestbuy on black friday plays everything including SVCDs.

But to me it looks like it only plays +R media.
 
I picked up 3 of these yesterday and they all worked perfectly. Who would have ever thought I could buy 3 DVD players for 29.97.... Wow...

Yes, I know they aren't the best brand but they make great XMas gifts! Thanks everyone on HOT DEALS!
 
DHL guy just brought mine. About to open it and plug it in. Maybe I will watch a movie in bed tonight.
 
Mine shipped, but it was due today, and didn't arrive. DHL seems sorta crappy so far. It shows it arrived at the DHL facility in my very town at like 8AM on the 20th. How it wasn't able to make it on a truck and to my door (probably ~5 miles at the most) in 2 days is beyond me (also used 2-day shipping). Also I ordered a case from them the other day, and it sat in their "facility" in my town for 2 days then as well.
 
Got mine. It a crappy little box but it plays DVDs and DVDRs for me... * no PAL tho* It definately feels cheap. I did get it to play aKDVD but it had some artifacts.
