I'm not a big country / bluegrass fan, but I saw her live show last night on Trio and thought it was pretty good.

Today, I bought Alison Kraus + Union Station from that show, and it's a great album. Even if you're not a country fan, you might like it. She has an absolutely wonderful voice (and she's kinda pretty :) ).

Is that the double live CD? They recorded that (and a DVD) here in town when they played. I missed that show but I've watched it and played it a ton...awesome stuff!!

Yeah, that's the double live CD. It's great! I just wish every country / bluegrass band in the world wouldn't feel the need to cover "I'm a Man of Constant Sorrow." It was novel in the movie, but it's getting to be the Freebird or Stairway to Heavy of the country world. :(

Love her voice... it's so pure. She's released a lot of great stuff over the years, although I like the progressive trend her and the band started making on the most recent studio album "New Favorite". There are some fantastic songs on there.

Any fan of her work would do well to check out her proteges, Nickel Creek. She produced both of their CDs and it shows. They've gotten even more progressive on their latest CD (there's a new genre... 'newgrass' :)) which I think really works well. I've spun that disc so many times in the last year I've lost count--it never gets old.

I love her voice. I agree with luv2chill that she's getting even better with each new album. I like the changes she's been willing to implement without sacrificing the purity of her and the band's sound. Forget About It is my favorite CD so far.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, Dan Tyminski was there that night and recorded that live version of I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow so it's not really a cover ;)

And... for pics...something quick

They have a song on the Buffy TV soundtrack (It Doesn't Matter from So Long so Wrong).

AKUS is one of the few country groups I like.
