Alienware Sale

I get a kick out of this company. They sell this funky looking alien desktop or notebook system, but they have government sales.

For where? Area 51???

your name is quite fitting for them though 😛

Though I've never purchased any of their products, I've read some horrible thing about their laptops , buyers be wary, make sure you do your homework.

Still about $500 too much for me to jump on one I do however recommend www.pctorque.com Sager 9860s are the same thing as the 7700 Alienware for a few hundred cheaper. Alienware really wants business though I've gotta say about a year ago the difference b/w alienware and sager on the same laptops was around $1000 now it's only $200-300.

I've built quite a few desktops, but never a laptop. Where do you get the chassis and screens from to do it yourself? Sorry for being off topic, just got my curiosity going.

u can get barebones laptops, but i don't think the cost savings is that much, especially when u factor in the warranty by purchasing a full machine from a reseller. if u have a problem with your mobo, there's no easy drop in that's readily available!

Just as soon build a kick butt desk top as a lappy. Got the laptop I'm typing on right now for when I'm on the road, like right now. Got to keep in touch with AT you know. 🙂

i guess this is hot... for those who can afford it. if you can afford these overpriced things... you probably dont even care that its $500 off.

even with $500 off Alienware is still more $$ than they're worth IMO. You can build your own for a lot less.

I was referring to laptop cost. I'd rather build my custom rig desktop wise...
